I was just wondering if dragons roam around randomly or are in specific places no matter what. If they roam around, I think I found something rare.

My first play through I actually fought a dragon at the college of winterhold(e?) It was kind of interesting because every time I visited the college I saw that corpse there welcoming me.
It was also very easy to battle because that woman, the head wizard or whatever was helping me fight it so I barely did anything.

Tell us your funny dragon locations! I want to know them.

Dragons are unscripted, in both appearance and actions.

Yea they appear at the college a lot, I was looking in the guide and it's apparently one of the places that has a high chance of dragon encounter.

90% of the time they aren't, however there are a few scripted locations from what I can tell, during the Main quest and one or two scenario's outside it.

But what you saw, winterhold college seems to have absurdly high Dragon Attack rates so they aren't rare there at all.

There are burial mounds all over Skyrim. Get so far in the main quest and get near one of those and you are bound to find one for certain. So yeah I am certain they script them to appear in certain locations to avoid having 5 spawn in the same area... although I have fought 3 at one time while a Skeever gnawed on my rump.

I suppose one is always scripted near an outdoors dragonwall, yes? I have only come upon one empty wall, and I found the dragon at the bottom of the mountain being mauled by bears.
