I just acquired Faendal, by doing the miscellaneous letter quest. He rewarded me by giving me 25 gold.

Would he have given me more, if I was a higher level before agreeing to take his letter and deliver it to Camilla?

Moreover, would he have been at my current level?

I would like to know if followers level up with you, or are they always LOCKED at the level you were at when you first got them to join you?
