Are we forgetting the falmer? The DLC will have some falmer

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:47 am

Do remember in the patch files all the stuff about the snow prince, I've got a feeling both the dawnguard and vampires will be facing the falmer.

We saw a falmer attacked by a normal axe in the trailer, suggesting that falmer play a part (i.e. they weren't showing of the axe).

So what do people think about the snow prince and the falmer? Any theories?

Bethesda hasn't officially released anything about the falmer. In the trailer it does look like a falmer though.
Maybe they are dropping hints to make people more interested in the falmer for a possible future dlc. I don't know but that is my theory. Maybe you are right.

I haven't read Fall of the Snow Prince in a very long time, not since Oblivion, but that's an interesting concept. But there's already a lot going on between the Volkihar, the Vanguard, the Legendary Dragons and these ... "Ideal Masters" from the Soul Cairn. But as you said, I doubt they were showing off the axe.

But what about the file names from the patch? They wouldn't add it to mislead us.

I think most people are more interested that they will get changes to vampires (and werewolfs I think) rather than be pumped up that there will be a couple new falmer enemies. I do hope they allow you to wear falmer armor. I really like the way it looks. That and the armor the dungar wear.

You can already find and wear falmer armor, head, chest, gauntlets, boots and shield.

The draugr wear ancient nord armor, which again you can already find.

A normal axe??? It was a new axe. I've certainly never seen it before.

Ah [censored], just checked it and you're right, it looks pretty new. But there must be a significance to the falmer being shown.

maybe since the sun can be blotted out by the Elder Scrolls the Falmer can leave their caves and rampage across skyrim?

OMG I didn't think about that! One more reason to support the DG.

Who's to say they won't expand on them, or simply feature them in some way; i.e. you get a quest to clear a cave of them in Dawnguard.
I personally think they will touch on Falmer further in a future expansion, but that's just me.

Plot idea: The vampires succeed in blocking out the sun. Without the sun as an obstacle, the Falmer are free to roam Nirn under leadership of the new or undead Snow Prince. The vampires and/or Dawnguard must stop the threat of the Falmer and attempt to re-establish the sun's presence, which is seen as a lesser of two evils compared to the Falmer in the vampires' eyes.

I never thought of that...Maybe once you blot out the sun you can then find them in large numbers, assaulting towns and the like....

The Falmer are the "phony" Volkihar, accused of freezing people and pulling them under the ice while the real Volkihar were hiding away for centuries upon centuries upon centuries in the Soul Cairn. Harkon, the real Volkihar, returned to Nirn to try and block out the sun with his daughter Serana.

Maybe the snow prince is in the soul cairn or maybe just not dead and the guards were posted in front of his tomb in solthim(or whatever) to make sure none found out cause there was no skeleton along with his armor

I would explain the loopholes on these so called "Volkihar", but I won't. ;)

Hell, he can read up on the other threads. Bethesda messed up with their own vampires.

This is my theory. The falmer and the vampires have joined together in alliance because of common interest. Neither of them can abide being in the sun. The removal or blocking of the Sun allows both vampires and falmer to stay outside permamently.
