Are the corrupted save games salvageable? : Fallout: New Vegas

Has any news been released on whether or not the save files are salvageable? Should we wait around for our progress to be fixed or are we pretty much SOL and need to restart from an earlier save or restart the game? This option presents a whole new issue though...

I saw the tips that were posted by Gstaff about what to do if you experience certain issues. One of them was the corrupted save files. They said to just revert to an old save. My problem with this is if there is no patch, what's keeping us from experiencing the same issue when we replay everything. Why should we revert to an old save when there is a chance that it could just corrupt our saves again? With no fix, we'd be in the same predicament. That doesn't seem like troubleshooting...only a way to get more pissed off when the same issue happens again.

Is there any answers for us? We've been waiting patiently and would really like to hear something pertaining to this issue. It's fine if the patch is taking a little longer than expected, just keep us in the loop. Especially those of us who have been on the forums going on two days now.

Nobody has heard anything? I wish they would mention something about this. This is my main concern whether or not to start the game over. I want to know if the bug is fixed.

I took there advice and you are right the corruption happened again a few hours later, but instead of afffecting just the one file, now all of my 6 saves are 'bad'.

bethesda said they are working on the patch. To be released soon..until then i would say do not delete your save if you have put lots of hours...

they have been 'working' on it but they havent said if we will be able to keep our 'corrupted' saves or not, personally i dont want the game if i lose 20+ hours of gameplay.

I lost 12 hours, and just restarted; now I'm past where I was in my corrupted file. It svcks, sure; but it'll be a better investment of time to just restart or go back as far as you have to than to wait around for a patch that has no set release date and hasn't even been confirmed to repair the "corrupted" files.
