Are there any performance fixes coming? Game runs like crap.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:01 pm

I haven't been able to play at all. I've reinstalled 3 times, I've reinstalled windows, defragged a dozen times, done the .dll fix, messed with my nVidia settings, iFpsClamp, etc, etc, etc.

(My current setup is fresh installed with the .dll file).

Through it all, I've fixed my slow-mo problems that I was having near NPCs. My only problem now which cannot be fixed I'm starting to think, is that the game really gets hit by low frame rates after a few minutes of play. It doesn't happen with any other game and my card isn't near overheating, nor is my processor. Seems like a major memory leak or something along those lines. It bothers me so much because I spent hours and hours and hours playing Fallout 3, and I never really noticed or took frame rate into account because the game was on high @ 60 throughout my entire play, so it was more or less about focusing on the actual aspects of the game instead of why on earth is my character jigging through the Mojave when my settings are on low, med, high, ultra...

The settings really don't matter. The problem remains the same even on low with AA+AF turned off.

After messing around with settings and a clean installation of windows, through it all, the performance issue has remained the same. It really svcks, but I'm starting to lose hope in playing this.

My PC specs are as follows...

Note: I'm not experiencing increased FPS drops near NPCs or as a result of nearby NPCs. My frame rate starts at 60 and then sort of stays between 15-25 after a few minutes of play.

I know it's a shot in the dark, but could my performance issues be related to audio in any way? It's all that I can think of now.

Any comments or help is greatly appreciated.
