Vampire and werewolf mythology existed quite a long time before the recent Twilight series phenomenon. Bethesda would have been drawing upon what they had established in their past games as well, most of which even pre-dated the Twilight books. I never saw a reference to Twilight in Skyrim; werewolves and vampires is about where the similarities begin and end. I would have hoped there would never have been a blatant Twilight reference anyway... Bethesda did a pretty good job handling it all, but I wish there was more depth (more NPCs of this type, and more factions/clans like in Morrowind).

LordofBones, I'm not a TES fan so I don't really care much for it's lore. I want vampires that sparkle for the reason of having sparkling vampires.

Seriously, if they ever did put a Twilight Easter Egg in a TES game I'd have to say thumbs up just for the lulz. It would definitely be fun to read all the angry posts from OMG BETRAYED hardcoe fans.
