Are vampires supposed to have stunted magicka? : V

I've just become a vampire.

I'm in sunlight but my magicka still regenerates.
I thought health, magicka and stamina are supposed to be stunted in sunlight while a vampire. Health and stamina are stunted but magicka is still regenerating.

I have made sure I have removed all enchantments that fortify magicka regeneration but my magicka still regenerates.

Is my game bugged?

There's a certain VampLevel (I believe Vamp4... but I'm too lazy to check) where the stunted magicka is removed.

Would you be so kind as to tell me what Vamplvl you are, so I know for future reference?

Vampire level 1.

Standing in direct sunlight and magicka isn't stunted at all.

I am not a vampire lord. I have dawnguard installed but have not started any quests for it yet

OH... well DG might be doing it then. I'm positive that for me (PS3 with 1.5) It's NOT Vamp1. No question in my mind. Try resting 24 hours, and see if it's still there when you're Vamp2. Also, check your active effects, just to be certain.

Are you wearing any items that fortify magicka regeneration?
Do you have the recovery perks?
Do you have The lady stone active?

I still have stunted magicka in Dawnguard, he may have a fortify magicka regeneration buff though. I believe one of the temples gives it out, as does that one "radiant" quest in the College of Winterhold to clear the wells.

The Lady Stone only works with health and stamina.

Checked active effects. There are no effects that fortify magicka regeneration.

Have just waited 24 hours and am now at level 2 and magicka still regenerates as normal

Stage 3 vampires regenerate magicka in sunlight, its a known bug. The penalties are: Stage1 -100% | 2 -100% | 3 -75% | 4 - 100%

Edit: BTW, if youre on PC by any chance, adding/removing vamp related mods disturb the sunlight penalties(had a hard time some months ago with this) if you want to check the actual bonuses, type on console: player.getavinfo magicka for a short description of the actual effects.

I am still using the mage standing stone from the very beginning.

Also I did that clear the wells quest ages ago. The super-fortified regen is no longer active and hasn't been for ages.

Or does that quest give you a permanent regen that isn't listed in the active effects?

Thank you sir. I wanted to say Vamp3... I dunno why I didn't though. I'm frankly surprised it wasn't fixed in dawnguard.

It's the recovery perk

Just check my perks. I have the 1st recovery perk of 25% fortify magic regen

So this perk partially cancels out stunted magicka?

Yup. It's only -100% not "you can't ever regen magicka in daylight"

There's plenty of ways around it. That's one reason why vamps are so awesome.

Need to get the other recovery perk now.

Also i'm currently stage 4 vampire an no one in riften is attacking me. In fact I can still talk to everyone. Is this a dawnguard thing?

EDIT: Just checked it is a dawnguard thing. Not sure I like how everyone stills talks to me as normal even though I'm a stage 4 vampire. Feels like i'm cheating.

Yeah... they added that in. You don't even have to go there for it. I guess too many people were having trouble feeding, so they decided to make it easier.

Well... outside in the day you take a pretty big hit to magicka/health/stamina totals. -100 is nothing to laugh at.

That said, I'm still inclined to agree.
