An Arena for players to vs eachother online

Something like the Arena in oblivion, Except against human players. Anyone else think this would be a good Add-on/dlc?

WAY to much balancing will be required for this unless you want never ending battles of two demi god characters stocked up with potions and super 7331 armor

I personally don't want online for this game. TES just isn't meant to have PVP online play. It's a [censored] single player RPG. Keep it that way. I don't want Bethesda turning into BioWare. -.-

not really!

itll just be a spam fest 2012!

hey if u like that kinda thing thats great
but if your thinking of some kinda team death match mode or a gladiator mode, that would get very old very fast

but maybe if it was done right it could be good, buit i doubt it
and i doubt even more that bethesda would eer attempt it.

1st thing being players are invisible in 1st person> too many issues to overcome!

Two Worlds 2 tried this. I hear it was actually fun; too bad nobody gives two [censored] about Two Worlds anymore haha.

The only multiplayr feature i want is a trading system. Example: if my friend got a ring of destruction but he is not a mage and i am, and I got gauntlets of sure-grip and he is a warrior then we could just trade them. but i am sure that people woul abuse that system...

Ya I agree with you Mr C even if it wasn't lethal and more like training grounds for soldiers either it be Storms and Imperial they have bar brawls and non lethal fights so why not with swords and spells and such?

It would require almost a complete re-write of the balance of items in the game for it to be any good. Otherwise people would use the Alchemy 'sploit, make things that can deal over 7,000,000 damage and just one shot everyone all the time. That would be absolutely no fun.

This is being heavily debated, amongst other forms of multiplayer over http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1239188-official-tes-multiplayerco-op-thread/

I've been had. I really ought to spend less time getting caught up in other things before posting.

They can't even seem to make a single player game that doesn't feel like it's still in early testing...

I'd hate to see how anything involving online play would turn out.

I don't think so. I think Mass Effect 3 has the right idea. Keep the single player entirely isolated and give it the full treatment, then let another studio use the engine and game systems to create a similar, but separate experience for multiplayer. Deathmatch wouldn't work and honestly is against the spirit of the game, but similar to what ME3 is doing, cooperative play would work extremely well in this type of a game. Crawl some dungeons with your friends, level up your character, collect some loot. Basically a Diablo II styled mini-game within the next TES package.

Don't even tell me that Bethesda wouldn't make a ton of money off that. Skyrim has done well and I think the next game will probably be damn solid as well, but being able to bring in more $$$ = more money is able to be reinvested into the game later, so that stuff like bugs can be fixed.

@ the OP's suggestion: No. At multiplayer in general: If it is done right.

I wouldn't mind coop but Skyrim is far from pvp worthy.

Next elder scrolls bug comfirmed on the new elder scrolls where level 5s are going into an arena with twice their levels to fight to the death.

The absolute worse thing that could happen to TES would be any sort of multiplayer.

This.

Go back to your boring multi/co-op games. Don't drag that [censored] into TES.

I would like to post a link to a certain mod for the PC users over on the Nexus site for Skyrim. Hopefully this isn't in violation of any of the forum rules, HOWEVER I'll make it a spoiler :] But click the link and read the description.

Spoiler

Everything you need to know that's in the works is in White at the top of the description.
