Arghhh! We NEED mods on consoles!

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:30 pm

I have not complained about Skyrim ONCE, but after finding out those Minecraft people get to have mods on xbox a started screaming, Minecraft is one of the most popular games in the Gen why is microsoft letting them have Mods but not us Skyrim players? Why doesn't Bethesda just give us consolers Mods?!!!!??? It would be simple!!! All you need to is connect the Skyrim game with the Nexus!!! It would be SIMPLE!!!! Mods on consoles ARE a possibility as Minecraft shows, seriously every time i think about this my Blood boils ....

It's not that simple. It's up to M$oft and Sony, not Beth.

No we don't. Skyrim is fine without mods. And its not Bethesda's decision, it's Sony and Microsoft's.
I daresay this topic will be locked very soon.

Now I'm not well informed on the issue, but I'd imagine Minecraft mods would be quite small and insignificant compared to some of the Skyrim mods. ( just look at that mod.... "warzones" I think it is called, that wouldn't be very easy to transfer to console)

As stated it's up to MS and Sony. I'm sure Beth would be happy to put mods on consoles.

Actually no, some are very complicated that change the scripts and everything.

Mods? no, I'd love them but it'll never happen

Command Console? Now that IS possible. Someone mentioned how people could "fake" achievements.... to counter that I would be more than willing to accept the restriction that any game/save that has had any console command executed cannot unlock achievements.

No, it wouldn't be simple at all. Microsoft wouldn't allow using a third-party website, not to mention that there are plenty of mods that raise the requirements quite a bit, and suddenly the game would crash or even not able to start.

Very true, Minecraft doesn't take up much data, it's a relatively lightweight piece of software compared to the blockbuster games released.

In any case, if you want to play with mods, buy the PC version. That was true for Morrowind and Oblivion, and is true for Skyrim too.
