Armory's? Forts?

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 9:06 pm

As you all know if you played F3 there were several Armorys/Forts...for example. That had alot of nice goodies.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wheaton_Armory
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Outcast_Outpost (It can count)
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fort_Bannister
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fort_Constantine
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fort_Independence
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Germantown_Police_HQ
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/National_Guard_Depot

All of these locations were prime for weapons, Tech, and equipment and by other means other useful stuff and had a interesting layout and sometimes storys.

In FNV there is only really 2 that can be counted as a Armory/Fort

Nellies Air Force Base
and
BOS bunker/Hidden valley

Should have there been more Forts/Armory's in FNV?

Well as I see it, Vegas isn't as much of a Military based city as D.C.; especially since how far it is inland and the chances of it being a priority target compared to D.C. I would believe it wouldn't need the immediate Forts and armories to protect from invasion.

Not really.

You see, you're forgetting that the DC area has a high conglomeration of military bases. Rightly so, considering that it was the FREAKING CAPITOL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

While military bases are out in the desert, there wouldn't be a high concentration of them, due to a lack of population and (in most cases) sensitive areas that would require US military presence.

I'm not up on Nevada geography... so I don't know if many would have fit in the setting unlike washingtown D.C tbh.

Hoover damn is close to a fort and is full of goodies.
Helios one is a fort as well.
A few bunkers are hidden around as well.. Jacobstown.

I have heard that the Mojave is full of paramilitary old cold war bunkers, small ones built by survivalists.. but there are a few of those in game as it is.

Well the NCR airbase McCarran could have had some bunkers stashed away.
Also the secret vault bases and Houses bunkers could have been expanded under as well.

Mostly I think they're leaving those style bunker ideas for DLC's though.. you know lots of toys and new tricks for abit of extra cash.

No doubt a player with more knowledge of available mods than me out here can give you some info on options in that field.. my money is on Tojka tbh.
That's if you are on PC however.

It seems like Old World blues could quench my taste for some Pre war facility hunting.

It looks pretty cool.

Did anyone else like those Forts/Armory's in F3?

If memory serves, Area 51 is to the north of Nellis. That could be a good DLC location. Or maybe that's the Big Empty (since there's a huge dry lakebed there).

Yeah would have been cool, but like elmo said I wish there had been more of the smaller little survivalists type of bunkers scattered around than there were.

Be hard to find a place in the country with more military presence than the San Diego area. But it probby got nuked to glass in the war, I'd guess.

A World of Pain adds a TON of 'dungeons' and they are pretty darn well done for a mod!
