Arrows...

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:37 pm

So, i just started playing Skyrim 3 day's ago, and i made an archer type instantly, seeing as warrior classes doesn't suite me. Anyhow, i now have a problem getting enough arrows.. I've read up alot, and it seem's like this has been a problem for archers since the game came out - so my question is, WHY don't you just include it in a patch? We could make arrows, or buy them at a infinite shop or something.. I dont want to switch between a melee weapon and my bow, it's just to [censored] when i've put alot of perk's into archery.
I am also on PS3, so i cannot do any "modding" to be able to craft arrows.

Hoping for answer's!

Give your best arrow to Lydia and let her shoot. You'll find plenty of arrows in corpses or on the groud from her bow.

What are you doing with your arrows that you don't have any. Nearly every enemy has a good 10 or 20 arrows on them when you search there dead body. Arrows are very easy to come by. I don't see why you need to make some of your own.

That's odd, I've never had that problem with my archer. Since walking out of the tutorial dungeon with 50+ iron arrows, that number just keeps on increasing. I now have hundreds of most types. You can pick up loads of basic iron arrows from bandit dungeons, ancient nord ruins offer plenty of draugr arrows and dwarven ruins yield falmer arrows. Are you questing in any of those types of areas? Higher end arrows will always be rarer, but make a point to stop at any archery shop every few days and they'll always sell a good amount of level appropriate arrows. If you still run out, use Bound Bow?

It's not that you don't find enough arrows, but the fact that you don't find enough of the type you want (with the maximum possible damage), especially at low levels.

Well, if you make a habit to save them for when you really need them, instead of spending glass/ebony arrows on mudcrabs, you'll soon have them by the hundreds.

You are probably doing something wrong if you can't find enough arrows. I have loads and loads. No, not all of them are the "best" ones but they seem to do the trick

I find arrows all over the place. I usually only use Steel and Iron anyway as their quivers look cool, and those are not rare at all. If you pickpocket guards they usually have 15 or so.

am i the only one who thinks arrow types aren't always the best considering it depends on level when you find them? you have more chances to find iron and steel arrows than glass, ebony or daedric.

So you're annoyed that you don't get enough of only the highest-damage arrows and sometimes have to use lesser arrows? Deal with it. Some things are rare. It's already ridiculous that people can carry around 2000 weightless arrows. Now you've got so many arrows available in the world that you never have to buy any, but you're annoyed that they aren't all daedric or something?

Because lesser items are more common than greater items! How else is it supposed to be?

In Solitude are some soldiers who are practicing their targeting with bow and arrows. Wait for them to shoot some arrows into the practice targets and then pick up the arrows. They will not complain about it. You can find more practice targets in Whiterun, behind the Companions house, and in the Dragonreach at its opposite end (the large open room with a view over the valley).

Bandits leave bows and arrows at the top of towers and look-outs. Draugr and skeleton archers always carry many arrows with them.

Always search the corpses for arrows, especially when they were using bows.

Also, do not pay too much attention to arrow quality. The damage of arrows does not scale with your skill, nor does smithing improve arrow damage or archery fortifications.

I dont mind what arrows, i cant find enough! And Lydia is missing since the "Diplomatic Immunity" quest, where you gotta enter the Thalmar Embassy, so i cannot pick up whatever Lydia uses!

Exactly.

Wander into any Ruin, you should come out with near 100 ancient Nord Arrows. Go hit a Forsworn camp, and you'll have bushels of Forsworn arrows. Any bandit is probably carrying 10-20 iron arrows . . . kill 4 bandits, you probably pick up 50 of them. A Falmer cave - probably come out with another 100 or so.

Sure, Dwarven, Orc, Elven, Ebony, Dedric arrows are much rarer . . . but it should be that way. But Iron, steel, Nord, and Forsworn arrows are all over. Just use the iron arrows for most purposes, and you should never have a problem.

I'll also second what others said - considering arrows are weightless, and you can literally carry around thousands with no problem, and they can be found all over the place, complaints are kind of silly.

Oh, I misunderstood you. My bad.

But as other said, if you can't find waaaay more arrows than you need, you must be doing something wrong. My last character had God knows how many arrows unused. Yes, he usually was melee, but still he did use arrows in some instances. I could have played all-bow, allt the time and not run out.

Arrows are all over the entire game, you can find them just laying around the world enemies carry them. The more common arrows are just that more common and you will find steel far more often than daedric or ebony, actually I prefer it that way. You do not have to always use the best sets use iron if you nothing else.

I find more then enough arrows.in most caves with bandits are atleast 2 archers who leave arrows.
Strange you cant find any. For me the game is drowning in iron and steel arrows. Those two. Ost shop owners sell too

Best arrows are daeric, and they are very rare. However with smithing arrow damage become pretty less important as you increase the base damage of the bow.
At higher levels you can buy glass and elven in shops.

I agree how power far outweighs the arrow damage.

I haven't had a problem running out of arrows since I found out they have no weight. I recently started a new character and had over a thousand in a very few in-game hours. I just pick up any arrows I find and loot all bodies. I have been playing this character for about 20 hours and I have several thousand arrows in my inventory. As has been said, if you are having problems finding arrows, you're doing something wrong.

You can also buy arrows from the Fletcher in Solitude and from The Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun.

If you search your dead targets, the majority of the time you'll get the arrows back. I seem to.

...but what I dont understand (sorry to go off on a tangent) is that I can fire 4 arrows into a target, and when I search them I can only pick up 2...yet I can see at least 3 sticking out of his face!!! lol

Yup and you only have to give her one. Some how she can magically produce those things.
