It was bad enough when I figured out that I couldn't complete any quest dealing with Cass, the Crimson caravan, the Van Grafffs, or anything dealing with those characters do to a bug in the game. Or be able to activate Arcade Gannons quest, or use Rauls maintenance perk do to glitches.

But I got over it and figured what the heck there's plenty of other stuff to do, so I moved on....

Well this whole time I've been working with the NCR, I'm "idolized" by them, I've screwed the Legion, killed house, not sure about Yes Man, and now I'm near the end....

Only to find out that this stupid game is incompleteable on my PS3 system!!!

Here's my problem:
I'm at the dam, the president is showing up in his aircraft. The major problem is that as soon as he and his extra people show up, everything starts to get glitchy, everything slows down, slower and slower as people exit the aircraft and onto my screen, untill the game freezes! It doesn't seem to be able to support all these people being active in the game at the same time!!!! ....Which seems to mean I'm screwed, and cannot finish this game!


...I've tried reloading earlier saves, but it doesn't help. The game freezes every time the president shows up!!!!


ARRRRRRG!!!! ....I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't really know how the game works on PS3, but if this was on PC i'd suggest trying looking at a direction where there aren't NPCs. If it is slowdown caused by rendering all those people, that may help.

Only slowdowns i've seen are in Adams Airforce Base :shrug:

There shouldn't be slowdown because of the PS3 so the issue is the actual game data?
PS3 can run Vegas in a cinch, there's never been slowdown on mine (original 60GB model) no matter what's going on, since I have save just before above point I went in, when president arrived started throwing plasma grenades around and basically trying to overload the graphics and nothing happened. Either the older PS3's are that much better or it's not the hardware.

As for the game data...sorry I am not a techie, I can't help there, my guess is the game's corrupted (certainly that's a LOT of glitches, the worst I've had is it froze once and I had to restart) but I honestly don't know.


I think Yes Man is always available? Regardless, that's a lot of problems you gotta deal with there...

Yeah, it's just frustrating.

I'll have to mess with it some more to see if there is some way around this.

I did try hiding out in the far away sniper tower, and the game did not freeze when the prz showed up. I got to hear his speech, but I found that if I try to leave that tower to move closer to the action... it freezes.

If I stay in the tower to take out the bad sniper, the prez just ends up getting blown up because I can't get near him or his ship.

......uuuug.

Funny thing, the first time i did that quest i didn't even know there was a bomb and only took out the sniper. No explosions, the president survived. Maybe because i didn't find the blood smear in the maintenance closet, or just another bug :shrug:

My God you are the lucky one ! I have an older model too and it freeze often. It happened to me too at the dam but I reload my save and it was fine!

Damn Laggy Glitchy game !

I'm on PC also. And indeed, on Adams Airforce Base I experienced slowdowns too, luckily not to the point that my game froze.

Interesting, I wonder why? There aren't that many npc's around compared to other places and the runway is just a wide open space.

I'm in the same boat, only earlier in the game. I went to get the Khans to back down in Oh Papa quest and went back to report to Colonel Moore and she has vanished. Gone. Map marker indicates where she should be in Hoover Dam Offices, but she's not there. In fact, she's nowhere in the damn and waiting for any amount of time doesn't work. The game has been glitchy from the start, but this is the first glitch that has prevented me from continuing in the game. So far, others have complained about this glitch but there is no solution, at least not for PS3.

Is anyone interested in getting a class action lawsuit filed on account of this game? I think we all deserve our money back.

They better hurry up with a patch; tho I doubt - considering they're working on DLC - they care anymore.

I'm in the boat where I was told to save the president; did so... started working on the NCR quests since I was in the neighborhood; which was to take out Mr. House - so figured what the hell and did so; then the General says 'go save the president' - but I already DID! And the ranger you need to talk too; is stuck because I already did the quest...

Utterly stupid.
