I think a lot of people could agree with that article. He brings up an interesting note, that a lot of older scifi games he played were terrible but still memorable becuase of what they could have been. I feel the same way about a lot of older scifi games. One that stands out the most for me is Advent Rising an old original Xbox game. If that game had been done with cutting edge graphics and gameplay mechanics and had been given the budget and time to develop as other huge hits at the time, then there is no doubt in my mind that it could have rivaled or even superseded Halo's epicness. To bad Advent Rising was plagued with production problems, cut backs, and a budget that makes you amazed that the game was even released at all! The original site for the game has been taken down but it was "adventtrilogy" because they were actually planing to make 2 more sequals to it. I wish they would remake this game with todays engines. I think it would be a huge hit if done right. The soundtrack though is fantastic and actually does rival or supersede many soundtracks of games at that time and even could compete with todays game scores.
