Honestly, before this DLC I had dreams of being a sneaky Vampire who sneaks in houses and drains people and ALWAYS sticks to the shadows. Unless Vamp Lord. This seems extremely stupid as an assassin.

The Vampire Lord is pretty terrible without high magicka. So I have to change my build a bit.

Sorry if the OP comes off as incorrect or angry. Im just a bit frustrated.

You don't have to use the Vampire Lord form, you can still play as a normal Vampire..granted of Volkihar blood, I'd recommend using it if you get caught sneaking. =P

The high buff you gain from turning into Vampire Lord makes having high magicka pointless unless you care about never ever running out and being able to spam attacks.

Get the Ring of Eurdite it adds 100 magicka to your pool and increase magicka regen a lot. Also with the perks I will say you will run out.
I play a thief illusionist I have about 200 magicka unbuffed and hardly run out of the stuff when in vampire lord form. Level 51 at the moment.

I'll second this (except I'm Level 17 with 200 magicka from the Ring of Erudite). The only time I've ever had to worry about running low on magicka or having it depleted was using Vampiric Grip and not watching my magicka bar. Even so, it regenerates pretty quickly, even in combat. I currently play a Nightblade Vampire Lord and use the Vampire Lord form when taking on Dragons or when I've been spotted and alerted an entire room.

With the ring of the beast and amulet of bats melee as a Vampire Lord is quite effective. The only time I use magic is when I want to vampiric grip somebody off a cliff for fun or when I'm trying to get vampire lord perks with drain life.
