Assassin build?

Just wondering what your thoughts on this build were.

Tell me what you think I should take out or put in. Of if I'll have difficulty fighting dragons or bosses with just a bow and daggers. Thanks.

level 80?
I would only plan to 50 and wing the rest. You will be close to doing everything possible, by the time you get to level 80.

Don't go for 80 builds, only go to 50. Here's my suggestion: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#83473

Potent poisons, you'll stay squishy with no perks in Light Armor (which is good-- it forces you to stay in the shadows), focusing on archery. I played this as my first character and it was an absolute blast. I avoided everything in the magic tree (including enchanting) and didn't cast spells.

You don't rally need all those sneak perks.
Get the 20% bonus, muffle and go up the right side of the tree.
Anything past muffle on the right side of the tree is really needed.

I'll probably go with that one, but I like to plan ahead. In that case, say you did plan to 81, which perks would you choose? Thanks again for everyone's help.

I agree with planning on level 50.

I guess my build is more Assassin/Thief. I also play DiD on Master, which is why I perked Light Armor and Illusion. http://skyrimcalculator.com/#83476

One of the named daggers I have does 50 damage at the moment. So with just 15x mult that equals 750 damage. I can dual wield daggers and sneak attack. With my offhand doing 35 damage, thats: 750, 525, 750, = 2025 damage. For that reason I did not take enchanting and only put 2 perks in blacksmithing. If I get another 15x that would be an insane 4050 damage sneak attack on anything but dragons. So..I dunno. Probably can get away with just the 2 blacksmithing perks and save yourself some grind.

For dragons, I use my bow with ebony arrows and I do 55 damage. That isn't a lot of damage against an ancient dragon, but I also use cover and the shout marked for death. After I started doing that, I've never had a problem with dragons on an assassin character.

Edit: The build I linked is the exact build I am playing now at level 50. There are still some awesome perks I'm going to take. Just wanted to show you something that I've been doing that works.

I'd rather rule out any kind of magic on this character. I don't even want to go up the daedric side of the smithing tree, if there are better daggers. Especially if I can craft some nice light armor; glass being my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your help, and that might actually be a build I'll later consider.

I hear ya. I would focus your build then. Something like this: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#83497

I focused on the bow. You won't need more than 1 perk in Agile Defender since you're taking BS and enchanting. You can smith your glass daggers through the roof, so I just put a few perks in Armsman. I left speech in there. I also took a few alchemy perks, giving you better fortify potions. Looks like you can take down anything with a bow in a few shots, and for bosses you can use an invisibility potions and use your powerful daggers to take them out. Once you get Shadow Warrior and your armor is above 450 you could easily put the bow down and run up on people, crouch, slit throat. Use a shield in one hand and a dagger in the other, so you can block attacks if the sneak doesn't go through. Then bash them and sneak attack again.

My 2 cents.

There are a few things I should mention. If you are sneak attacking with anything your armor skill isn't going to level fast. Same with your weapon skills, because you will only need a few hits/shots to take something down. I'm sure you will have a ton of gold with enchanting and speech to pay trainers though.

I haven't done this yet, so it's pure theory, but I'm planning a Redguard assassin for my first run through the DB. I'll focus on these skills:

One-handed
Light Armor
Sneak
Alchemy

I will probably carry a bow, but don't plan to perk up Archery very much.

This will be a dual-wielder, probably daggers or dagger + sword if needed in open combat. No magic skills. I'll take up to Assassin's Blade on the right side of Sneak, and up to Muffled Movement on the left side... probably no more than that. Probably go up the left side of Light Armor. Alchemy obviously for poisons, but also for the only healing and buffs aside from found/bought enchanted gear. I contemplated Pickpocket for the Poisoner perk, but it takes a lot of failure to get your Pickpocket to a reliable point; I'll save that for some other character.

That sounds really good too. One last thing though, I feel like smithing things to have 300 attack is a bit unfair and seems like cheating. So if I avoid that, what do you think I should do? Would nightengale armor, plus daedric daggers suffice?

Who says an assassin have to be stealthy? Technically, anyone murdering for money is a assassin be it mage, warrior or sneaker.

Collect 2 plants when harvesting 1? Lose that perk, and get the poisoned one in pickpocket.

It would totally work. You could go up the right side and get daedric and dragon smithing in case you get sick of nightengale. You could not use enchanting to fortify smithing to keep your dagger damage reasonable and your bow damage for that matter. The archery perks are nice, especially quick shot, so you won't need a bunch of damage anyway, and the ranger perk would give you mobility in stealth in conjuction with shadow warrior too, so you can keep moving while sneak attacking.

The downside is nightengale is a leveled item and I personally think sneak attacking with a bow all day is tedious. You also won't get glass smithing perk, unless you want the whole smithing tree, as deadric is near impossible to find. In later levels you will be fine, in the early levels if you can't get in backstab range you could always drink an invisiblity potion. You'll also have shouts like Ice Form in case you aggro everything, to buy you time to re-enter stealth. I took illusion for calm, muffle, and invsibility, so I've been spoiled by that.

Alright, I'll do that. If I don't get sick of nightengale, do you know of any way I can get it to the armor cap? Also, do you think Dual Flurry is worth two points? Those are my last two questions, I promise. xD

Here's a video on youtube that's very informative about an assassin build along with a few others check him out but here's the video.

You can get it to the armor cap if you take all the Light Armor perks that increase Light Armor effectiveness and the Lord Stone and 100 blacksmithing, if not capped, it'll be close. I'm using it now and I have 390 armor with 75 smithing and +110% blacksmithing gear, Lord Stone, and the perks. I survive just fine, but I'm no warrior. The only time I get into trouble is with Shadow Warrior, using an ebony shield has helped. I took Dual Flurry to make sure I get those 3 sneak attacks in on bosses and sometimes I stand up and dual wield when I feel like being a warrior. I would say you could skip Dual Flurry and be just fine. The difference being only 2 sneak attacks without out and with it I can get 3 off by dual attacking. Helpful against dragon priest and other bosses of that level.
