Easy. Listen to me, dear brother...

I am the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood and assassin-role-character. :P

Ok, enough joking.

Enter the Dark Brotherhood, or kill Astrid. This quest is essential for you if you want to be a real assassin with daggers.

I am sure about this: use your perks to increase one-handed damage and dual flurry--->Dual Savagery.
I recommend you to use bow to sneak-shot! But, anyways, if you want a melee-based:

Use this skills:
Light Armor
One-handed
Sneak
Blacksmithing (improve the damage of your daggers, that makes THE DIFFERENCE)
Enchanting (Magical weapons and soultrapping with killdaggers are awsome. **)
Alchemy (It will increase your damage with poisons... )

And this way you'll kill everything on your way. Use the Dark Brotherhood GEAR. It'll make you twice stronger while backstabbing.

thank you brother of the Dark Brotherhood

I think you should say 'hail Sithis'. :) I agree with what our colleague suggests. However, I didn't really make plans about my build. I just played as an archer assassin, but also improved one-handed because of the daggers. For me, the perks from stealth, archery, one-handed and light armor were the most important, but alchemy and blacksmithing come handy too.

of course. But there might be people in this forum who would help you more.

I actually prefeer my self-made weapons than unique-weapons. That's because I can craft a Daedric Dagger and improve it by sharpening, and the damage will be awsome... plus enchanting with a damage spell will give you power.

But you can look for this two daggers I find useful:
- Blade of Woe (Astrid's blade. If you kill her, you get it. **read about the Dark Brotherhood questline and you'll understand how to**)
- Merhunes razor.

Hail Sithis!

i use blacksmith sharpened blades swords (they look like katana's) dual wielding, i don't get the assassin blade perk myself. u can chose a total of 80 perks, ut choose very wisely as there may be some htat u later have little to no use or taste for

If you will use smithing, enchanting, and/or alchemy go Daedric daggers, but if not use the unique dagger mentioned above ^^^
