There's some talk on couple other forums that Nvidia is about to admit some sort of driver update for rage as well due to some bugs, but can't find any actual nvidia reps saying that just as of yet.

Just trying to help out the people who cant get it running sir, that is all :) I personally am running a nvidia gtx580, so no serious issues here... but if nvidia thinks there might be a problem, then im all for updates, lol

"All - don't use the current Rage performance driver - package includes very old OGL files, that's why you're seeing corruption etc."

"New Rage driver with proper OGL component will be posted later today"

I don't know why we had to hear this through Twitter rather than more legitimate channels, but there you have it. Good news for those AMD users among us, at least.

Great news. But this won't fix the CPU issues a lot of us are seeing.

Nice. :) Let's hope this solves some of the bigger issues, and not require a hotfix for the hotfix.. It sounds good but seeing is believing.

What CPU issue? Sorry I don't have the game yet. Is it 'just' high CPU usage?

100% spike to the point the game locks up/freezes every second to two seconds making the game 100% entirely unplayable.

Believed to have something to do with caching as if you alt-tab for a while and come back you can get 5-6s of playtime before it starts again.

Maybe it's the texture compression format. They're stored in a more efficient format and then have to be decompressed and then re-compressed to a format the video card can read.

Well the damage is done, it has a 3% score on Metacritic or something, it even looks like they took down the page. I'm guessing someone told them to take it down before it's too late to fix the score, so they can fix the problems. Id and ATI better make a joint statement before the window of opportunity for selling this game is gone. It's unbelievable how quickly and violently people turn on a company like id without even waiting a day. The game could literally be balls to the wall awesome and a million people might never find out now because they saw the rating and didn't get it.

The textures will still be butt ugly even if the drivers fix the streaming issue.

Great, at least that's one big issue being resolved. Still, how did this go unnoticed before the game went public?

I have no streaming issues at all and this is the Textures that the game provides.

What's your system? You know the game automatically scales down textures when your system can't handle it. Just because there are no graphics settings doesn't mean the game doesn't auto-set them. Also, Carmack said some textures would be blurry to reach the 60fps mark, although that image is a BIT disconcerting.

Alright, well then that might be a problem. Let's hope it's caused by something else. I think id also said they're releasing a high res texture pack for PCs.
