Attacked by 2 dragons

I walked out of a cave after letting some Necromancers know that even though the Mage Guild is no more, necromancy is still a license to getting your face smashed in. My character firmly believes dead things should stay that way, except for Erandur because he's cool but dies constantly. :P

Anyways, I barely make it back to the road when the music changes. I get excited, its been awhile since I nommed me some dragon souls. I spin around to see where the threat is coming from and I see 2 red dots. I think to myself, "silly sabre cat, attacking me while I'm dealing with a dragon isn't going to help you, the dragon will probably eat you first anyways... well, after it eats Erandur" I approach the 2 red dots and look up and see 2 dragons. I get less excited. Both of them are circling overhead now, and making passes at me, fire breathing from one and ice breath from another. Highly annoying to say the least. One lands a little ways from me and I say "oh goody, down here where my greatsword can treat your high blood pressure!" I pop a fire resist potion and charge in. While its roasting my marshmellows and I'm taking great big chunks out of his face, the other one is still making passes at me, breathing ice. (shouldn't those 2 cancel each other out and therefore I take no damage? :P)

Long story short, the fire breather learns that ebony through the skull is bad for you and coughs up its soul. The ice breather never lands and then flys off into the distance. My question is, does the second dragon 'despawn'. Or is it off in some corner of Skyrim munching on bandits?

In case you're wondering, yes, Erandur did get relieved of his right to breathe and had to be resurrected. Bringing cool people back from the dead isn't necromancy.

I would assume that it despawned eventually but I don't know for sure.
