Attacking while in the air

Hi I just wanted to know if anyone knew how to use the Creation Kit to make it so you can attack while in the air.

Would be nice. Something Bethesda missed the boat on for those thief/rogue type characters.

I don't think you can do it with the CK, sorry... These animations are handled by *_behaviors.hkx files

You can try to alter these behavior files to meet your need

Check the thread: Havok converter in Skyrim Mod Forum. They have tool to convert hkx files to xml and xml back to Bethesda hkx. Although altering XML for falling animation is quite difficult

That Havok Converter is for changing animations nothing to do with what i'm doing. I want to make you able to attack while in the air, as falling has no special animation unless from a great height. This just for if you are doing a jump or just falling off a small ledge.

Hmm, there is more than that to meet the eyes. You will be amazed how much data, conditions are stored in those behaviors.hkx. And I mean behavior files

Animation in Skyrim is conditioned, as they transit from one animation to the next. For instance, sitting on horse back disable every other animation of the riders because there is no condition, no transition to whatever animation after mounted. By modifying the behavior files, I can make player draw swords, or play any animation from horse back. (check my signature for the video)

Same principle applied to your case

I've seen your video. Will try those behaviours just got to see if I can edit them and if I can not to enable jumping while in the air.

Better jumping behavior when the player can jump higher, attacking while sprinting, jumping while sprinting and attacking while falling are all things I'm interested in too.

For the record, I tried fixing the jump-freeze-in-air issue by making a longer jump animation (thus moving the 'landed' note further out), but all I got was a headless character who still floated :(
