Audiofps glitch

This past weekend I first DLed & used several mods from Steam Workshop. Since then & only since then my game has a problem where after a short while the game becomes choppy fps-wise and the audio starts to intermittently pop & crackle--not loud but enough to be annoying. I've started running it in a window with Simple Borderless Window, which obviously is helping my fps at least until the problem occurs, I've re-installed from scratch, even going so far as to delete the skyrim folder after uninstallation, though my save games were still there so I must not have gotten everything. Last I tried playing with only Pluto's Improved Skyrim Experience & Realistic Lighting loaded, which was what I had been using before the problem appeared. It did very well for maybe 20-25 minutes, then the same thing. The only other thing I can think of to do would be to completely eliminate Skyrim from my hard drive, saves & all & start from scratch again but I don't know where everything is. Also, would it cause me problems if I did that? Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

I doubt this is the fix, but have you recently updated your vid card drivers? Check in your control panel/device manager, under audio devices. You may have several listed, depending on your gpu. If so, try "disable" for all the hi-def devices, being sure to leave "enabled" whatever device you actually use for sound (onboard? soundcard?). Not sure if this is THE fix for your problem, but try it out and let us know.
