Augmented Weapons

Do you think it would be cool, or pointless?
Like a shot gun when equipped raises speech or barter a little, basically scaring who you are talking to.
Or a certain energy weapon that raise science, or silenced weapon raising sneak, which would be a little overkill.
Can't really say whether or not I am for it, I just want to see what others think about it.

I think a wielding a scary gun seems like a good way of increasing a speech check, or a big gun lowering agility
I like that more than one outfit raising end str and agi.

Weapons should not have any effect what so ever on any existing skills. The only skill I can see weapons reasonably effecting would be a skill that does not exist in the Fallout universe... Intimidation. It was a speech related skill in Neverwinter Nights 2, and presumably 1 but I never played 1. That is the only skill I could accept weapons having an effect on and like I said, it doesn't exist in the Fallout universe. Though I wouldn't be totally against it if they added it, it would have to be done well and honestly, I just don't see them doing it anyway.

Maybe if it's only like a fear effect.Which when your talking to some one Gives you the option to wave your gun in there face.

No skill bonus from weapons.

Nahh, but what would be cool is if you had completely seperate dialogue options when holding a gun up to some npc's face.

That would be horrible it should only be like it was done in fallout 3 how power armor lowered agility by one or how lab coat raised science by 5 or t51b power helmet raised charisma other than that no way.

That's not true.real life explanation.

If i went for a job in a office and turned up in a hoody and some track suit bottoms i'd probably more likely to get the job if i turned up in a full suit.

We already have weapon mods, I think that's enough.

I know that, I'm on the 360. I'm saying, New Vegas will feature a weapon modification system, you can go to a gunsmith and add silencers, scopes, extended mags and more to your weapons, so what more do we need?

This is a stupid idea. Guns dont make you better at anything. You require skills to even USE guns, if the guns themselves gave you skills, then we wouild have a hell of a lot self inflicted gunshot wounds. *Grumbles something about mandatory firearms training*
