Auriel's Bow without the quest? : V

Is it possible to just travel to Darkfall cave and go through the Forgotten Vale without doing the whole Dawnguard storyline? I have an archer that would love shooting the sun and making it explode but I'm burned out on the dawnguard story.

Been curious about this, is there even an entrance into the cave near the Orc stronghold leading to the Vale before the quest? or is it like the Underforge in the companions? Invisible and uninteractable?

Yeah I would assume the cave doesn't show up until you get to a specific part of the Dawnguard quest line.

no offense but thats a dumb question...how many artifacts can you get without doing a quest?

if this was possible i would get all artifacts at level 1 by running to the end of the dungeon

I saw a walkthrough video on youtube where the guy is on the mission to recruit to people into the dawnguard ( one of them is Sorine Jurard). He goes to her and notices a cave on his compass that is not discovered yet. He goes to it and discovers darkfall cave

He doesn't go in though, so I don't know if you can continue in there

Yeah you can probably find the cave and maybe even clear it, but I'd be willing to bet money that you can't start the quest to get the bow.

I did that too. Found Darkfall cave, while looking for Sorine, but didn't go in.

I think the Snow elf just Isn't there and the portal to the rest of the cave just doesn't show up until you unlock the quest

You get to the first waypoint and there are just trolls there - no snow elf to open the portals.

A lot of people think that's a problem with Skyrim. I think it'd be awesome if there were some artifacts that were hidden in the game world. BUT this is also because I think scaling loot is weak.

When I say I want my character to impact the world, I don't mean loot scaling...

Yup. What's his face isn't there to activate the wayshrine. I got all excited when I stumbled across it, thinking I had found the bow. Then nothing happened; got a nice 8 hour boost to my bow damage though.
