Hey guys/gals

Did a quick search of the forum and I dont believe its been covered. Just wanted to throw out a question regarding the games auto detect video settings upon launch. Each time i do it, it recommends ultra high however the resolution shown is the lowest at 1152x648. Is this telling me that it recommends ultra high at that resolution or is it not taken into account? I have no problems running at any resolution but i just find it strange how it always changes back when auto-detecting. Does the same happen for anyone else?

Auto-detect chooses either high or ultra for me and yes it also chooses a relatively low resolution. I just turn it up to a higher one.

(Edited) Sorry, I can't recall now what resolution it wanted to use, but my display maxes out fairly low as those things go, any more (1440 by 1080, perhaps?), and I usually let it run at 1280 by 1024.

well i cannot run a dxdiag at the moment as im on my phones browser but i have a display capable of 1920x1080 and a Radeon 5770. I dont have an issue with performance as such but i was unsure whether ithe recommended settings are calculated using the lowest resolution or whether its actually saying "use this"

You ended up with a better response than mine, and I edited my original to suit it. I had no recollection of the resolution suggested having been particularly low.

Its 1440x900 which is IIRC a 19 inch wide screen.

Only resolution with 1080 is 1920x1080 which ranges from 23-26 inch monitors.*

*Excluding laptop weirdness and their high resolutions on tiny screens.

Actually, the second number was accurate. It was the "1440" that was not. The max I have available on the display in question is 1400 by 1080, which is referred to as "Super Extended Graphics Array plus"
