[Idea] Auto-looting of dungeons by companions

Maybe a dwemer robot-companion (with unlimited capacity of inventory) which will loot everything for you after finishing a dungeon. Looting imo isn't fun at all, pretty much a routine, and kills a decent amount of time. What do you think?

Meh, there will be companion mods that include loot commands but unlimited carry capacityis kinda on the 'cheaty" side. 1000 is about right for a machine. Personally I like sifting through the loot. It's an integral part of my love of exploration. I know there are lots of people out there that will agree with you so your not alone.

What i'd like is a pack horse with 500 enc capacity. With a companion carrying 200-300 and my self with 150-250 plus the pack horse I'd be able to clean out most dungeons in one trip. That would make me happy.

I would like it if I could simply press shift-E (PC) to pickup items directly to the follower inventory. This would be especially good for skill books since I don't want to read most of them, at least not until later. But this would make looting the dungeon easier for sure. You could limit it by testing the distance of the follower to make sure they are near you.

Would prefer an more limited and probably easier function, at least easier to control, have followers harvest plants and pick up arrows, had this option an mod in Oblivion, downside was that npc walked slowly around and stopped if an plant was out of reach. Dogmeat in Fallout 3 had the collect ammo function who probably worked better except that he went to far, had he be limited to 10 meters from you it would work better.

"the old merchant on a mule"

there is an old decrepit man that rides a kind of disinterested mule, and they kind of gravitate towards you after a big conflict or fight. The old man get's off the mule and collects stray equipment that has been left behind in the wake of the battle. And they occasionally head back to town. When you check in with them they give you a small cut of the profits. You can also load them up with equipment, and send them to town torchlight style separately. Only they slowly hobble towards town. So it's a longer term prospect thing. (naturally waiting/sleeping will speed up the results.

Besides being immersive, the mod would act as a savegame reduction method. Instead of the game calculating the positions of all the stray arrows, and dropped items, the mod would go part of the way towards giving a tangible reason for the purging.

I have always liked the idea of hiring some random street urchin or beggar to follow me around and grab anything that looks usefull or valuable, obviously you would have to deal with them grabbing the wrong stuff untill you teach them what to do, getting killed by foes and traps and deciding to leg it with a sack of diamonds
