I like guns very much in F:NV so i am wondering is the automatic rifle any good?

did you get dead money? and yes the automatic rifle is really good. it has pretty bad accuracy though so would need to be close but it does a great deal of damage

It's effective out to medium range....usage wise it's like a 12ga shotgun only better. JSP or AP rounds will take down a Deathclaw fast. I now carry it instead of a Hunting Shotgun, along with a silenced sniper rifle and either Lucky or a Police Pistol.

Is it a good replacement for this machine?

honestly hell no brush gun/trail prob the best contenders for that role

why wouldnt the BAR be suited for that anyways it does great damage and dps.

maybe i phrased it wrong, aim searching for a reliable allround battle rifle.

oh ok then yah this machine would probably be suited for that more

I kinda like the automatic rifle clip was alright, power was good, i found it nice to use as a pure guns, med to close range gun, Only thing i didn't like about it was (manly cause i've only done the dlc once) That you didn't get much ammo for it in the dlc.

I didn't really like it that much, as it the accuracy wasn't that good. But it is still an effective weapon.

It's not really good for medium range either. It's OK, but a lot of shots will miss if you let loose and take advantage of its rate of fire. It's real excellence is at close range.
When a target is closing, fire in short bursts until it gets in close and then let her rip.
I down many a deathclaw in this manner.

Bar is inaccurate and far from on the same footing as the trail/brush .Dge accuracy rof dps and alot easier to reapir with jury.this machine is in all honesty decent but mediocre versus brush.If ur wondering why a old weapon beats a newer run ,je sawyer has a love for old school americana death dealers

Is it better at medium range than the assault carbine?

Depends what you're facing. If it's an armored target, yes (with JSP BAR can do roughly 60 damage per shot), but if the target isn't armored, it's worse. Assault carbine has much lower spread (1.5 compared to 2.5) higher RoF, and bigger clip, but is lacking in DPS. But with the BAR, the spread is too big to use effectively with the low RoF, because you simply can't put as many bullets onto the target due to larger spread.
