I've read a lot of topics about people having problems when the autosave is switched on, and also when trying to overwrite existing manual saves with new ones. So should I switch autosave off before I start? And should I avoid trying to overwrite existing manual saves?

Do not overwrite saves. by doing this you may run into pain in the butt game freezing. As for the auto save i don't mind it being on or off.

I always overwrite saves, and have all the autosaves set to default, and have had no problems in over 60 hours of game play.

However, other people have had problems, so it may depend on how cautious you wish to be!

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. It's a shame that even after the patch there are some people who have massive problems, and others who have none. At least if it was broken for everyone then you would know what you needed to do (e.g. not overwriting saves etc).

I haven't even started this game yet - I preordered it, and decided to wait for the patch after reading about the bugs, and I'm still playing another game which I want to finish first (Dragon Age Origins Ultimite Edition, so it could take a while). But I'm so apprehensive about even starting FNV, what with not knowing if everything is going to be fine, or a compete disaster, or somewhere in between.

It wouldn't bother me so much, but Fallout 3 is one of my most favourite games of all time (second only to Oblivion for me), and so I really want FNV to be just as enjoyable. Who knows, maybe I'll wait for yet another patch to come out, if they are going to bother doing another one that is. :whistling:

Yeah, it's strange that on a closed system like a console, some people have major problems whilst others only have minor ones.

I suspect you may have a long wait for another patch, though ...

The amount of problems is equal, but some people tolerate them more, or simply do not see them. Others are lucky, because some glitches are bound to a certain weapon, location, skill, etc ...

I suppose I wouldn't mind if I started having problems straight away and had to start again early on, but I wouldn't want to start experiencing these problems after 60 hours or something. Do these save problems often come up early in the game?

-NEVER QUICKSAVE
-NEVER QUICKLOAD
-DON′T OVERWRITE AN EXISTING SAVE GAME
-WHEN LOADING A SAVEGAME, RETURN TO MAIN SCREEN FIRST
-HOLD LB. RB, X WHEN U BOOT UP THE GAME (clear the game cache)

So it's worth doing all this? I could put up with doing all that if I had to, although I'm guessing it would be a pain loading a savegame from the main menu every time.
