Avatars are indeed back. There was an issue where it was trying to load the wrong file that I fixed.

I feel ........... complete again.

Mine seems to have been elongated a bit - it seems it has been scaled slightly incorrectly.

Edit - I re-uploaded and the problem is solved. Yay!
