Baldur's Gate

Ya, I realized my mistake and started the other game. I started in a cage this time so your right, but right now I'm playing Crysis 2 so kind of lost interest in BG at the moment. :teehee:

Oh when you decided to get back to BG 2, remember wizards are kings in Forgotten Realms. Their power is unpararelled so you would do well to up your saving throws and have at least 3 spellcasters(cleric/wizard) in your party.

I like the added depth of doing the whole story with one character - start from scratch, work yourself up right until the end of the (epic) story. If I had to choose one of the two, it'd be BG II for the replay value.

Play the first one. It will just make everything mesh better. You won't feel like you are missing out on anything that way.

BG 2 continues with BG 1 story, but BG 1 is classic, and mediocre in sense of story. The gameplay is refreshing if you never touched AD&D, it takes a lot of forethought and the encounters could lead to lots of save/load. It is unlike anything modern action games which your actions have absolutely no impacts on the game.

You are definately missing something, but not by much imo. The real juicy meat is on BG 2 and BG 2: ToB.

Pantaloons

BG2 is the better, and the series is my all-time favorite; played them sequentually.

Good luck mate, but you won't get the super secret quest and reward if you don't play BG1 first. It ran through all 3 iterations and was pretty obscure ;)
