Banned from all 5 casinos.. No more gambling ever?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:09 pm

I've been banned from Primm, Atomic wrangler, Gamora, Tops, & Ultra-Luxe. As i understand these bans are permanent which you receive for winning too much.

So does this mean no more gambling for the rest of the game?

Yep, Caravan is actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

And if you really want to you can use kind of a mild exploit on the merchants who play caravan, because they use their own cap reserve from the store to gamble (I think they are willing to bet like 1/3 of their total money), so you can buy a bunch of stuff, win all your money back, then sell the stuff to the vendortron at gun runners.

Ya but does my luck factor into caravan? As far as i know NPCs that play caravan don't carry jack for money. I think 1,600 is the highest one i've came across
I abandoned my lvl30 toon w. 60,000 caps to make a toon w. 9 luck (implant & naughty nightwear) luckily, no pun intended, i found out that this build can only get you about 50,000 caps before you get banned from all casinos, before i spent too much time on this character. I'm not sure if its worth it in the long run as 2 points of luck become obsolete. You can always make ton of money by vendoring super sledges and high end tier weapons. But ya.. back to my question Is there some caravan NPC that carries a lot of money & restocks it fast? If not then i'm gonna abandon my character thats already banned from all casinos, and his not even L7 yet.

Of course all of this may sound pointless as there is really no money sink in this game to begin w.

And that's why you play slots until you get three oranges which will net you 32,000 caps per casino, regardless of the limit.

yep a ban is a ban.....if you like to gamble then make a lower luck toon and use it much more of a challenge..

I keep trying to get oranges but I max out before I get them is there a trick.....other than making sure you do not go over the limit....ie...loose on purpose in blackjack.

The whole "alright buddy that's enough money for you, get out." thing is a pretty neat addition, but I imagine it's pretty annoying in the long run when you're banned from all the casinos and can't do some gambling.

My characters are usually not that lucky (Luck 1, hehe) so I just lose money most of the time. I do enjoy blackjack though.

You play it on the PC? You want to continue with gambling? Get a mod that increases the limit....saw 1 - 2 already, they went up to like a 100k or even a million.

I think there should be a mid-level perk that takes the ban away. DLC?

Best way to make a ton of cash of the casinos is to just use blackjack to fuel your slot machine attempts. Sooner or latr you will hit the big 20k+ pot.

Saddly the ultralux has no slot machine, in which case your best getting xlose to the cap as possible and then putting 200 on one number in routllette.

i usually leave vegas with 70-80k and 6 implants.

I have 8 base luck, and wear naughty nightwear for a total of 9 luck when I'm in the casinos.

I've probably reloaded 20 times. The best I've ever done at any Casino as far as slots go was the three graqes for 16,000 caps. And that happened once.

I'm not sure how people are getting 32,000 caps without reloads multiple times. I honestly don't even believe it, unless I see a video somewhere. Because 9 luck and 20 reloads hasn't gotten me there even once.

And by reloads I mean I exchange 1,000 caps for 1,000 chips, play blackjack for the two minutes it takes to get 2,000 caps at that luck, and then play slots until I run out of money or get banned. Then when I run out of money or get banned, I reload.

Mind you, I've already won enough on blackjack to win the last stage gifts at every casino, so getting banned is like only an extra 2,000-4,000 caps. So I end up banned probably 70% of the time, and out of chips 30% of the time before a reload.

Considering my character has 50,000 caps, I'm considering just giving up on trying to get another 150,000 more or whatever. It's not worth the grind at all. Because don't forget every reload takes about 10 seconds and then the "anti cheating measures" make you wait another 60 seconds. So I probably dumped an hour and a half listening to the bad advice of the people on this forum. Next time I'll just limit out on blackjack and call it a victory.

I gotten 3 oranges with lucky 7 (i personally think 7 more lucky then higher luck) I done this 2 times at primm and atomic wrangler and I got 3 graqes also but I have to admit I did reloads not because I lost because I went over the limits.

I have half a million and ungodly amounts of ammo for winning over 300 caravan games. Check out my caravan guide by searching for the thread "Guide to massive caps"

They should make you contribute 10-15k to a casino before they lift a ban. Prevent exploits but allow people to play

Caravan svcks for me, I like Blackjack much more. I typically stop playing near the limit, then lose a few Ks and start playing again with just 1 chip until I make that 14 grand or so again.

Or instead of contributing money (spending money to gamble doesn't make much sense) you could do favors for the casinos.

I think there should *always* be a way to gamble on the strip. even if it's only at one casino. Honestly, I think if you do the quest chain for a casino in a favorable way (read: Not just killing everyone) you should be able to have your bans lifted once a week or something. The "booted" message you get would be replaced by a guy telling you "hey, the boss says give the casino some time to make back what you've taken. try again in a week or so" or something along those lines.

I mean, it's cool that they limited it so you can't just become crazy rich, but honestly, I'm going to become crazy rich anyway by selling all the crap I find.. so I'd rather do it gambling for HOURS. lol. seriously, I could play blackjack all day long. "just another hand! one more!"

Seriously, let us play unlimited blackjack/roulette/slots. I like Roulette IRL, but in NV, it's just insane hard to win anything.

maybe you can exact your revenge and destroy every one of the casinos. it should definatly end up with more money for you.

but yea, caravan is a great game. i usually play with issac cause i can spend my winnings on some guns.
(or sell the clothes off my back to make up for the losings)

You actually lose at Caravan? lol :P

I think out of maybe 40~ games played, I've lost maybe 10 times. But usually before each game, I save, just incase I do lose.

I got my 30 games trophy from Cliff Briscoe in the Novac dinosaur. Poor Cliff. Honestly though, I had to resort to buying garbage off him just so he had money to play with, lol.

before christmas they will release a DLC which will boost the level to forty and one of the perks will allow you access to the casinos you have been banned from so you can win and get kicked out a second time. it will be called "Super Swagger" and require 8 charisma.

also there will be two new casinos: Flaming Flamingo and The Cleopatra. One of them will feature a high stakes game of Caravan in a back room as part of a quest.
