Barbas appreciation thread

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:25 am

Is anyone as attached to Barbas as me? Since he started following me I've grown quite fond of him, he's so useful (not being killable and all) and the times when he can't enter a place with me I actually really miss him! Siure he gets in the way ALOT but not sure if I can ever see me completing his quest! Is that bad? Thinking I should go cold turkey or something..

No. His barking annoys the hell out of me, and he doesn't really fit with either of my characters.

Can't stand him. It's mostly his voice and dialogue - sleazy, petty grifter sounding. His voice is not very dog-like, and he doesn't give off the loyal companion vibe he should have.

He's both adorable and cheerful. I just hate it when he bumps into me every single time I move.

Yeah, there is the bumping thing as well,.. He's an average sized dog, not a tank, and i'm a beefy nord. Go bump a mudcrab or something...

Barbas always tries to kill me by pushing me off high places and into traps. I think he has it in for me. Now Meeko, on the other hand, is a good boy and deserves a doggie cookie. He doesn't shut up either, but at least he doesn't have a vendetta against me. :P

I love Barbas, aside from the bumping into.

Yes, you will love him...right up to where he pushes you off a cliff. His AI is screwed up, or either the devs made it so, as it forces you
Spoiler
to consider the choices at the end of the questline
. Aside form the constant pushing...you have the never ending yap-yap-yap....

No, I hate that mutt.

Spoiler
I killed him on my last game just because he was annoying. Trying to do something and the damned beast pushes me and screws everything up, clubbing him with the rueful axe was the best part of that quest.

I agree about the constant barking i think i've just gotten so used to it now (except sometimes i think i'm in fable and he's found treasure or something) He is pretty handy when being stealthy as he will run up and keep people busy while i'm picking them off with arrows. He's has flaws but he is my favourite for sure. Although sometimes he starts fighting with another follower and I have to break it up, naughty Barbas!

I haven't met Meeko yet, would him and Barbas get along? There might be some sort of doggy dislike there i'm guessing!

I appreciated putting the rueful axe in his face and i appreciated the silence afterward...that stereotypical NY jew accent annoyed me almost as much as the constant barking
