What does that even mean? I don't get all these half assed negative posts... lets see I am with a bunch of friends, we have been together since RTCW. This is the game we have been waiting for, we are loving it so far... we have a TS3 server, website and facebook group. We all bought the game and rented a server..

We get together and pay together and love the team aspect that is great to play with friends...

Im not going to call you a troll, but what are you trying to say?

I think what they're basically trying to say is, "CAL OF DUDY 4 LYFE, DAWG!!!! Hurhur, derpedy derp derp."

You know how it is, some people just cannot tolerate the notion that some of us may not like the games they develop a perverse co-dependency/basis for a substantial portion of their identity on. Either that, or in their little tizzy, they've managed to tangle their frilly underthings into a sheepshank over the audacity of Splash Damage and Bethesda actually making single player as relevant as co-op.

Either way, it's the same mindset we see over, and over, and over, and over again- f a game doesn't mimic exactly what they're used to, they cry "LAME!!!" and let slip the adolescents of war.

Just ignore'em- if they skip Brink because it dares to depart from the only formula they're capable of understanding, then it's their loss, not ours.

Are you kidding me? I hate CoD with a passion. It takes 10 minutes for up with 1 friend in game. Unlike the first two people in this thread, you do not get it. This is implying with the lack of a party/lobby system that is needed for this game. You went way too far with thread, you managed to respond to one sentence with a 3-paragraph rant, and you're telling people who to ignore?

And you're writing off a game on day one, based on it not handling things the way you're used to.

I'm still saying 'No great loss.'

If I'm misinterpreting your overall stance on the game, then I'm wrong, and I'm fine with admitting that.

I'm just tired of seeing games come out and instantly get slammed, day one, because they don't go about things in the exact same manner that other games do- lack of innovation is strangling the industry and leading to the advent of games that are by-the-numbers, wholly interchangeable shovelware, and as such, I'm willing to give anything that tries something new a shot, be it how new game mechanics, stylized art, or approaching MP in a different way.

Sigh...Where is that even implied in the OP? I like the game but playing with friends is an obstacle. And I bought the game to play with friends AND because its different. I don't wanna hop on a game, see friends playing Brink, and HOPE to play with them. I wanna hop on a game, see friends playing Brink, and KNOW I get to play with them. What fun is it playing Brink knowing you have friends playing the same game, but you have to play separately due to unsuccessful attempts at joining the same game/team? Not that fun. I'd just be playing, wishing we could play together. And go through that everyday? Not if I bought it to play with friends.

I for sure understand what you're saying about how people write off games right away because its not what their used to and hate it when people do it also. I know a guy who wrote off KZ3 just because the gameplay didn't feel like CoD. I couldn't believe it. Thats not the case here. The lack of lobbies/parties is a feature (which has nothing to do with Brink's awesome gameplay) that is missing and should be present in all games IMO.

How is it an obstacle? Set up a fireteam, et voila- you're good to go, kept together across games.

And I think when the topic itself is a slam on the game, it kind of sets the tone for the message that follows, generally.

and i think people that have an opinion should not be generally attacked based on a valid point..if you are goin to have a Matched based game then you need some where to set up the match...that would be called a lobby...lobbys also give you a short cool down period between 2 matches..i tottally agree with this guys post without Lobby system this game will die..right now its new and fun and some people will over look it for now but i spent 2hrs trying to get matched up with a friend early this morning and it never happened..if you could maybe explain how you and your amazing friends that buy your own servers or rent or whatever and set up "fireteams" to some of us console players on how to link up with people then by all means teach me but us lowly console players are kinda stuck with the hope for the best but get the worst right now..so if someone that paid his fair share wants to come here and complain about things that are missing then im glad maybe bethesda will listen and get us some lobbys

I agree with the other 360 players...we need a lobby desperately. Ive been trying to get into games with friends by invites and everybody trying to join session in progress.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the fireteam set up using the scoreboard after a game? In that case you have to get in the game with eachother before you can setup this substitute for "parties" or "lobbies" that people are used to in other games. This makes it not an adequate substitute as you don't get the perk of meeting up with friends before you play, as everyone is looking to do.

I have been trying to play with a friend and having trouble with free play/ multiplayer games because they will be full, not to mention the major lag issues but im assuming those will clear up. If we just play two-player co-op on campaign missions it works just fine because slots won't be filled, but I also get knocked witht the issue of it telling me im "Too high of a rank to join." Anyone else had this problem? I made a second guy that was lower rank so I could play with him but then that guy got too high too. My friend said he set the game to available for "MY rank and Higher" setting but it still blocks me out. Is that setting glitched?

hard to join in progress when the game is full.

its not that its different, no one gives a crap about that, its that the lobby system makes INFINITELY more sense than how it is currently.

make a lobby -> invite players -> play the game.

instead of

join a game in progress, hoping there will be slots for all of your friends (and if there arent slots for everyone you have to back out and try again DERP) -> wait till the end of the game -> join a fireteam -> play the game.

its not as big of a deal for PC gamers because the host can probably boot people to make room for his friends. for xbox its a huge deal that makes playing with friends a hassle, to say the very least.

oh, and its currently not even remotely playable for xbox360 because of the horrid lag. ive played original xbox games that had better netcoding than brink does at the moment. hopefully they'll patch the game, but if they dont i'll be returning this one within the month.
