so basicly...

this post is trying to get the actual game facts CORRECTLY, if possible. if any of the information i state is wrong, its in my opinion the game companies fault for leaving us in the dark to sit and gossip about KEY GAME DETAILS which could in fact make or break this preorder for a lot of people.

So, this game confuses me a bit. its a SINGLE player game to the point that you can't invite friends over to your house to play UNLESS, they bring a 2nd console over (and a 2nd copy of the game, with matching systems). Which from what i can gather from this forum, is only accessible from the Xbox 360. So computer and PS3 players are screwed unless they have a "friend" on their list with the game or would like to find a random partner hook up (assuming that's an option).

So then why should i buy this multi-player game when i have no one id PREFER to play with, I'll be stuck with random online person #7. None of my friends owns a PS3, and i don't own an Xbox360. that would make it so i can no longer access the multi-player content with a friend, correct? So now in order to play this "multi-player dungeon crawler" the way it was probably (guessing) meant to be played, i now need to go out and buy a whole new console for like 200 dollars, plus the actual hard copy of the game, assuming i can talk one of my friends into buying this as well. sounds too much like work. at first, i thought the no split screen meant it was like the original multi-player style. like Golden Axe, where everyone's just on one screen, but the more i read the more it looks like a failed Dungeons and Dragons off take with better graphics with only online as an optional partner hook up. Does this mean that the game saves your progress? or both peoples? is it considered "your" saved game or theirs or both? will "same-sofa" be added later? or exist...ever?

Also, the site is so empty. its hard to get a feeling for a game when all your given is two character names, some vauge details, a small beastiary and the same two trailers. i know the game still isn't expected out for a while, but the release date is different on ALL of your pre-order options. Amazon is posting 5/25/11, game stop is offering 5/10/11 and for some reason Best Buy is godly and offering it at a release of 3/17/11. which one is correct? none of them? all of them?

Under the actual game content, i have been watching the updates for almost a year now. so far the only updates i have found is a PARAGRAPH on the story, two weapons for each character (sword/shield) and two basic looking foot soldiers which i'm probably gonna destroy 10 seconds into game play. there's almost no information under news, the last post was from 5/4/10, that's like 8 months ago. The same two trailers are there, haven't been updated. i get why, spoilers n such, but seriously. how about a FAQ with GAME INFORMATION?

also, your "co-op" prize package is so lame, its just a way to say, "sorry we couldn't let you hang out with your friends, give this console to them and this game so we can loop-hole our way around your misfortune." (btw, theres only TWO prizes where they do this, if your working off of a systems match up like mine, your apparently screwed. 3rd place is only 2 copies of the game...which its not even adressed if you can get TWO DIFFRENT console versions, or if they can be played together across consoles.) So to my knowledge, it looks like its an "at your own risk, you MIGHT be able to WIN a second console and game and if your lucky enough to know the information before hand, you MIGHT still be able to play with each other depending on which options you pick."

this game MIGHT be picked up by me, but its been left in the dark for FAR to long, no advertisemants on anything, no information to be had minus the 3 page website and 40ish topics on this forum. i actually like Bethesda as a gameing company, but this one seriously feels like its the redheaded step child of the genre it was meant for.

anyways, im done ranting about how aggrivateing it was just finding information on this game just to see if i could actually play it co-op with those people you might remember as "friends". you know, those guys who come over once in a while, might bring beer, leave dents in your couch. yea...

time to go lock that child under the stairs for a couple more months untill it feels like it can behave properly in public.
(kidding, no children were imprisoned because of this game...i hope...)

I don't really understand your question. It's true that the game doesn't have split-screen but I don't believe the multiplayer experience is terribly different between the systems.

I was under the impression that you could set up an online multiplayer game with a friend but I can't say that for certain and to be honest I haven't been following the multiplayer details very closely. (Note, moderators are non-employee volunteers and we aren't privy to unannounced information, nothing I say should be considered even remotely official.)

So then why should i buy this multi-player game when i have no one id PREFER to play with, I'll be stuck with random online person #7. None of my friends owns a PS3, and i don't own an Xbox360. that would make it so i can no longer access the multi-player content with a friend, correct?

It has been confirmed that there is no cross-platform play.

Also, the site is so empty. its hard to get a feeling for a game when all your given is two character names, some vauge details, a small beastiary and the same two trailers.

I imagine the forum will perk up as we near the release, and it looks like there is a lot of new information that will be coming out on the site in the months to come. When Bethesda Softworks publishes an in-house title they're free to announce it whenever they want so they can wait until they are quite far into developement. However when Bethesda is working with an external company like inXile the game is often announced when the agreement between the developer and publisher is finalized. So Hunted could have been quite early in it's developement when the game was officially announced and these forums went up.

i know the game still isn't expected out for a while, but the release date is different on ALL of your pre-order options. Stores and magazines will often put up specific placeholder dates . . . I don't know what the logic behind this is but none of those dates are official as far as I can tell. If you look at Brink the official release date is "Spring 2011" but you can find stores listing it anywhere from early March to late May.

In December 2001 Bethesda announced that Morrowind would be released in "Spring 2002" and right away most of the major stores put up January release dates, and every few weeks they'd push the release date back a few more weeks. Even after "May 2002" was announced most of the stores put up dates in April. Things have improved in the past ten years but placeholder dates are still common even if they're most likely to be in the right ballpark (or at least not flagrantly incorrect).

If you wanted so badly to play with friends you know in real life.... why the hell did you buy a PS3?

*Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off out loud and on the inside*

Sorry, just had a friend buy a PS3 for better graphics then complained that he couldn't play with any of his dozens of friends that all only have xbox. Horrible.

No offense but you seem to have never followed a game pre release before... the guy above seems to have answered all of your questions though.

With both versions (PS3 and 360), you can set up a co-op game with a friend over LIVE or PSN. You can also just play with a random partner. If you're not playing online, you can play the game your partner being controlled by AI.

Does that help?
