Quick Description

Battlefield 3 (commonly abbreviated to BF3) is a first-person shooter action video game, being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and to be published by Electronic Arts. The game is set to be released on October 25, 2011 on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and EA Mobile confirmed a port for the iOS platform. It is a direct sequel to 2005's Battlefield 2, but the eleventh installment in the Battlefield franchise.

Battlefield 3 will feature the maximalist combined arms battles that made the series popular across single-player, co-operative and multiplayer modes. It will reintroduce several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC. To accommodate the lower player count on consoles, the ground area will be limited for Xbox 360 and PS3, though fly space will remain the same.
During an interview with GameInformer Magazine, EA stated that Commander Mode is unlikely to be included, which was met with some criticism on the EA forum.
The game will feature maps set in Paris, Tehran, Sarajevo, Sulaymaniyah, New York, Wake Island and Oman. As a whole, combat will take place in urban streets, metropolitan downtown areas, and open landscapes suited to vehicle combat.
Battlefield 3 will introduce Battlelog, a free cross-platform social service with built-in text and voice communicator, game statistics and ability to join the game that friend is already playing (both players need to be on the same platform).

That was fast -

So how many optics?

Are there any specific to each gun?

I noticed one or two red dots

An acog

Iron sights

Some kind of infared scope with green and red.

Magnified scope for snipers

Any others?

I'm sure that I could search for this but asking here will be easier. How long will Beta be open for?

Do you have to log in to anything or pre order?

What exactly do you have to do to get in?

I, personally, am not worried about the lack of teamwork in the Beta. I know there will be little to none there, and it's mostly for testing features. I'm complaining about the change in every core element of gameplay in the entire game. The gameplay is entirely different. I felt like I was playing Modern Warfare or CoD, not a glorious Battlefield game...

Download the Beta and that's it. Just google search Battlefield 3 Beta and go to the official site and it will show you how to download it for PC or direct you to how to download it on the Consoles through XBL or PS.

Also, I think I've found my new favorite tactic

Going around and following my squad (if there are one or two sticking together) and tossing med-kits at them or sitting in a high action zone off to the side and reviving all the idiots who run out in the open and try to kill people :P

I just had like 2300 points with only 5 kills.

I think it's partly due to the choice of the beta map being O.M. rather than something like Caspian Border. Of course I agree about the complete shift in style from BF2 to BF3, which is pretty much sad. All they really had to do was move BF2 to the new engine, and then improve upon what they already had, instead of what seems (at least to me) just removing and toning things down.
