Became Too Easy

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 9:01 pm

Hey everyone. So I beat Skyrim a few days ago, and ever since I've just been busting through the side-quests. I beat all the quests for the Companions, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, took over Skyrim by helping the Stormcloaks, etc. I got my smithing up to 100, and got full Dragon Armor (which doesn't look as good as I thought it would.) And I crafted a two handed sword to do about 80 damage, with a 20 damage bonus enchantment.

I'm saying all of this, because the game just got too damn easy! I walk around everywhere, and I kill everything in just a few hits.

I'm just curious, is it worth making a new character? Has anybody else gotten to this point, and made a new character and enjoyed it? I feel like I'm missing out on something if I make a new one, but at the same time I feel like I've done all I can do on my main one.

Well, if you did everything on your first character then there really isn't much point, unless you just want to try a different play style or something.

Personally, I don't enjoy doing everything with one character. It kind of takes the Role Playing element out of the game at that point, and that's one of the most fun parts.

Crafting is unbalanced. Once they tweak it a bit everything will be fine

Great game!

Yeah you're right. I didn't technically do everything. I didn't really explore magic at all, and there is a whole lot I didn't explore. But I just can't find the motivation to do it, simply because I don't feel any danger around in the world. When I first started playing, I encountered a troll in a dark river at the top of a mountain. I could barely damage it! It was so exciting.

Now I slaughter a troll in a hit or two, and send their flimsy bodies flying down a mountain range.

I respect the growth of power. I guess I've just reached the end of time with that hero, and it's a bit depressing. I guess I'll make a new character, and play solely on the Master difficulty.

I went from playing as a mage, where even if I used up all my magicka I couldn't kill anything stronger than a basic draugr or bandit, to playing a 2-handed warrior who takes down giants with a few sprint attacks. Sadly my warrior is pretty boring now, killing my first sabre-cat was awesome after being killed by them so many times. Now I just click once and they drop dead.

Gotta find a character whose power level sits between these two.

I hear how you got a bunch of skills to 100 and how many questilines you've completed but not how many dungeons you've cleared.
If you ask me, the dungeons and just exploring is the best part of Skyrim, there might have been things you missed and things you could try in a diffirent way, besides, there's always an element of randomness when you're not fasttraveling that makes each new char abit diffirent,
quests, npc's, thieves and what not you can come across.
I'd start a new magic using class if i were you, on master and focus on exploring rather than completing questlines, there's a bunch of quests you come across while doing dungeons.
You sound like you played a warrior, try a dual-wielding sneaky mage focusing on illussion spells or something, it's quite fun.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I even put the difficulty up, but it's not the same. It doesn't feel natural.

It's easy to become powerful and it's great for a short while. But it sure does become boring.

So I'm starting a new character, and right from the start putting it on Master difficulty. This should make it much more worth-while.
