Note: Not any height. I discovered this when jumping from High Hrothgar and the shout expired just metres from the ground, shortly followed by me doing the same...
I was able to successfully jump from Bard's Leap without using any spell or shout. The secret is to land in the water pool without hitting the stone balcony below the jump point. High Hrogthar? Never tried jumping from the balcony in the temple courtyard but it should be fun!

well, the bard's leap is made to be jumped from, no surprise
The ethereal effect is great it looks really good in third person. I wonder if shouts will be a skyrim only thing or get carried over into the next Tes game since its basicaly a nord thing? Thats a topic for another day. Thumbs up for awesome shouts.

I hope that they make shouts into spells in the next game. I would have loved a spell to send a weak concussive blast of air at an enemy with my mage. On Topic: I haven't gotten it yet but you can't shout in the air.
