Been poisoned -- who can cure me ?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:34 am

Got a touch of some disease from a Chaurus or a Skeever. I think it's rockstone or rockstar or something. It means my melee ability is 25% down.

I know there are shrines and people that can cure me ( for free).

Anyone tell me where they are? I am currently resting in Riverwood.

Rock Joint. :P

Any Shrine or a Cure Disease potion. I don't think healers or Alchemists can cure you outright.

All 5 major holds have a shrine (temple) where you can get healed. There are also shrines scattered all over Skyrim's outside world.
Or buy a potion of cure disease from any alchemy shop.

I think there's Shrine of Talos near Riverwood in the hills/mountains, but, unless you're avoiding it, Whiterun would be the easiest Shrine(s) to get to. Riverwood Traders might have a Cure Disease potion.

Like in Morrowind and Oblivion, always travel with a Cure Disease potion.

This^. I always have 3 on me at all times. They take care of all disease problmes immediately---even vampirism. Which is kind of cheesy. You should at least have to go to a shrine to get that one taken care of. But anyway, yeah, Cure Disease potions.

Eat a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Hawk_Feathers.
Because they have http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Cure_Disease as their first effect and Cure Disease is an effect that is not magnitude-dependent, eating Hawk Feathers provides the same benefits as any Cure Disease potion.

Also there's at least one shrine in every city, and several hidden away in various locations out in the wilderness, usually not marked on the map. There's at least three in the plains area between Whiterun and Rorikstead.

Like others have mentioned: carrying a Cure Disease potion or 10 is best especially if you don't want to become a Vampire. If you miss that 72 hour window (I think that's how much time you have) it's a pain to cure yourself - a quest or series of quests I believe. :o

If I ever find myself with the disease, I just finish the quest I'm on and go to the nearest town to heal myself up

"You have contracted Rockstar." Haha, not bad!

Shrines are all over Skyrim, just so you know in the future. Hold capitals (those nine towns marked with their coat of arms) have temples in which there's a shrine for a deity served in that city's temple.

Shrines are always a good healing choice, because they not only heal, but add blessings that last for hours IRL-time. You should google them up to see what bonuses they grand - and where to find them, really.

Still, you should always carry Hawk Feathers or Cure Disease potions with you. They cure you that instant. That way, even if you were in the middle of the longest dungeon, you don't forget having Sanguinare Vampiris or Lycanthropy, like apparently some players have forgotten, and then wondered why on earth they just became vampires or werewolves. :P

Go to a temple and pray, or drink a potion that cures sickness

I've heard tales of a House which can cure any disease, but other than that, shrine, potion, or vigilant are the only ways I'm aware of.

I didn't know about the Vigilant, thanks.

In Solitude, in the Temple of the Divines, you have your choice of 8 of the Divines (all except Talos), so you can cure disease---as well as pick and choose what you'd like beefed up at that time (Arkay, etc.)

Yeah, I think you get a 50% resistance to Skooma addiction with that, right? :D

Depends on the certain type of Rockstar that you contract, because there are different brands of the virus. If you get something like Sheenitis, your blood is replaced with that of a saber cat, and you only get a 25% resistance. Another extreme example is Ozzyosis, which grants you a variation of Namira's Ring ability, except this time you can use it on the head's of animals and you get a 100% resistance to skooma.

Shoot down a hawk and eat its feathers. Cure disease is the 1st effect so you don't even have to make a potion with it.
