I've tried making a new character and when the executioner is supposed to cut my head off, he suddenly decides not to. Alduin does not land on the tower aswell. So my friend and I are both stuck and can't get passed the opening sequence, nice job bethy. This is quite gamebreaking.

Yes, I made a dark elf, my friend an Imperial.

This has been reported in the tech problems forum and apparently is quite common post patch 1.6. Apparently disabling all your autosaves can prevent it for some, so I would try that.

Okay, I didnt check to see if anyone post ed, I have my auto save disabled however, still doesnt go through. Thanks though.

In that case, I would just delete both the patch and your game cache before starting a new character. Just don't re-download the patch until you're past the opening.

I had a problem after the executioner part where I followed the stormcloak guy. I ran up the tower before he told me too. the dragon attacked with flames, but the wall never broke down, so I was stuck in that tower forever. Pretty cool.
