That's a broad question. Just browse Nexus. Look at the top 100, figure out what you want to change about the game, read the descriptions.

I believe the limit is 255 total ESM's and ESP's in the "Data" folder. But that number should never be reached in a newer game like New Vegas. Maybe later, when modders have released more mods.

What would like to add or change in the game? Chances are there is a mod for that. If you wan to ask for specific mods, use the Mod Detectives thread in this section.

I recomend visual mods. New Vegas seems to shine in that area. Many of the mods are very easy to install and don't smash your preformance. I'd post links but I'm on my phone.

For gameplay changes, I recommend Project Nevada. By far the most seamless mod for New Vegas. It feels like it should be included in the game.

It really depends on what your system can run. If you have never played New Vegas, I recommend keeping it simple at first and checking the game out without huge overhaul mods. See what the game offers, then go from there. Too many people put so many mods in right off the bat, get conflicts, crashes and a lot of wasted frustrating time. Just play the game, check out mod threads and see what suits you AND your system the best. There are also console commands you can use that don't mod at all BUT if you use console commands, you will ruin the "Steam Achievements" so if you want to get them, no console commands. Just play the game, and see what you would like to change about it. There are a lot of mods out there now and not all of them play nice together. :sadvaultboy:

I use Fallout Mod Manager. It has a few nice tools in it that I don't really take advantage of, but they're there! Some installations (Such as Project Nevada) are a lot easier with it.

EDIT: Bahh...Cev beat me to it

but I should also tell him that Fallout Mod Manager, manages both FO3 and Fallout New Vagus. It's your best choice! :thumbsup:

ok... I know how to install mods in FO3. But I have NV through Steam. How do I install mods now?

Every PC user has to have New Vagus through steam, It doesn't matter if you got it via Direct to drive or a retail version, the all use steam.

There is no real difference, you just need to find your program files\steam\steamApps\common\fallout New vagus\Data folder and drop them in. It all works just as it did for FO3, it's just in a new location or, use FOMM's package manager to install them into the appropriate location. :whistling:

There is one difference. If you Steam installed under Program Files folder and are using Vista or 7, UAC may prevent using the modded files. Easy fix is to reinstall Steam in a folder that is not under program files (i have, for example: C:\games\steam). Just move the Steamapps folder to a temporary location and you don't have to redownload all your games.

Your right but, it just assumed this was common knowledge. When someone says they know how to install for FO3, this shouldn't be a streach to figure out.
