Being followed by a wolf?!

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 3:02 pm

Ever since the last patch, I have this wolf showing up whenever i fast travel. It's not hostile or interactive. It just stands there and howls. I can run off without a problem, it just stands there. But as soon as I fast travel, there he is again. I spent a good hour sorting through mods trying to find the problem, but he still appears even with all mods completely uninstalled, so I know that's not the problem.

While it's not a huge issue in itself and easily ignored, I would like to keep this from escalating if at all possible. Anyone else having "guests" after the patch? And how did you get rid of them?

Right after the patch I loaded my most recent save which was out on the road somewhere. Load screen pops up game world loads and I(in 3rd person) have two skeevers a few bandits couple wolves and a bear just all standing around near my character......oh and a Mammoth floating in the sky.... none where hostile and they disappeared a second or two later. Nothing like that since. I use a cleanup mod:http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4528 maybe give it a try see if your wolf friend takes off....past that its great for keeping game save size down. Level 43 with a 8.2 mb save file :D

Don't worry, I had a fox attack me last night after the latest patch.

Just kill the wolf, it won't come back.

I would think not interactive means he can't kill it but maybe I am wrong.

No, I can kill it. I just can't do anything else with it. It doesn't even say "wolf" when I point my crosshairs at him. It's not like it really bothers me. I'm just paranoid and waiting for the other shoe to drop. My luck it'll be every hostile within ten miles, all spawning in while I'm sleeping. :ermm:

Thanks for the mod link; I was using that for a while, then switched over to Martigan's de-bloatifier. Corpses will still turn into ashpiles as intended with it, and it handles nirnroot glows a bit better IMO. Made my own mod for handling dropped weapons, so that's all good.

Edit: Looks like I could be a lot worse off. Thank the Nine I'm not getting this: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1354617-massive-spawn-inside-whiterun/

Gotcha I would say just slay him. I mostly use the addon for the weapon drop the other features are cool especially since I don't pick herbs.
