So my main general goods merchant went missing....? I have no idea were he at. His shop has been locked for a week now. Picked the lock of his back door and searched through his store and found no corpse or belethor. I can almost guarantee I haven't killed him because haven't killed a single towns folk yet. Anyone have this problem?

It is possible he has gone to hire thugs or the Dark brotherhood. He also might have been killed by a dragon. If you are on pc use commands to respawn him

I do apologize for not stating system, I'm in Xbox. It's not that big of a deal but my chat lvl is low and white run was gonna be my base of operation for the first portion. Maybe someday he'll come back...?

Is there anyway to know if he's dead for sure? His apprentice still talks like hes still alive?! Will a new shopkeeper come into play?

Are you doing a companion quest, one that requires you to go and rescue him? That happened to me with arcadia.

If he's dead, then a new shopkeeper won't come and replace him, the shop will just be empty.

I have to kill some witches for the companions quest line ATM. I could do some more research...maybe he did get taken. I did notice the thieves guild put a marking on his building... Circle with square with lines through it meaning place has loot worth stealing.... Wish me luck.

Seriously? His little lackey that says a billion times "I work for Belethor at the general goods store. " doesn't take his place?

Someone was sick of Belethor trying to buy relatives, so he got killed.
Either that or someone tried to kill that woodcutter who says "i work for belethor", missed, and decided to kill belethor instead.
