I belive the Vaults are haunted...

Every Vault I go in I hear something like a loud thumping noise above or below me. And it makes me pee myself every time, especially when it happened in Vault 11.

(thumping as something banging against the wall, really loud)

Not sure what's so scary about Vault 34, besides the rads. We've all fought feral ghouls before, and in scarier places than that. Dunwich, anyone? I think Fallout 3's subway terminals desensitized me to ferals. I think they're cuter than they are scary, at this point. Really, they're just extremely weak, insane humans.

Not trying to posture, here. Vault 22 scared the living [censored] out of me. I'll never approach a lump of vegetation in Fallout the same way, ever again.

On subsequent playthroughs, Spore Carriers aren't nearly as creepy. Probably because you know where they hide, and kill them before they even reveal themselves. Sort of makes you wish their position was randomized.

And since the rest of the enemies in there are weak insects, the whole Vault becomes a bit of a joke... I'd be surprised if you couldn't clear that place with a 2nd or 3rd level character. Too bad really, since it's a very cool design otherwise.

Sad that the vaults were created to protect us yet almost none of them survived. Mainly due to bad leaders.

Not entirely true. There were 13-15 control Vaults that worked as advertised IIRC. The number I typed may be wrong, but IIRC it's 13.

Yeah I do think the Vaults are haunted, I swear when walking through one once I heard the sound like someone typing on a keyboard but nobody was there.

Vaults scare the hell out of me and I put off entering any for as long as possible. What's so irrational about disliking maze-like interiors, poor lighting, ghouls, rusty walls, and that ever oppressive-feeling that makes me you want to bolt out of the Vault as soon as possible?! Even perfectly maintained, intact Vaults like 21 make me uneasy.

While none of the vaults were by themselves scary, there is something about the dark, maze like structure, along with random noises that does play with the imagination. Every time I'm running around, I'll turn around occasionally to make sure Boone and ED-E are still with me. When they aren't, now THAT'S scary...

However, I was disappointed with Vault 22. They could have done much more with that. I was only kinda surprised to see my first spore carrier, but even then, it showed up when I was moving my rifle/cursor across the area. After that, I pretty much knew exactly where to find them. Plus, with ED-E and Boone, it was no contest really.

That is simply ambiance music from previous Fallouts..Tactics I think.

Great sound though....murmuring of voices...faint sound of type writers.

If you want really good music and sound effects find the music mod that has music from all the Fallouts.

A lot of music in this game is already from previous Fallouts.

After a while, I'd just cruise through the vegetation instead of tip-toeing through and if I disturbed anything, Boone and ED-E would handle it. I was already gone.

Vaults bother me now because I get lost constantly....I'm just not good in them...too claustrophobic and I'm not that way IRL.

I spent days lost in Vault 22. I had to send Boone home and carry on alone, he was so bad at hitting the little mantises. That left me to deal with those [censored] spore carriers. I was glad to get out of that place. The things I do for power armor.
