I didn't take note of the developments of the Ipod Touch, but apparently they really made it much more competitive over other brands. This current generation has a higher screen resolution, and costs less than 200 for the model with the smallest storage. Is there any reason to buy something else as of now? Looks like other manufactures don't even want to compete here.

Edit: Of course I'm trying to buy something that can let you take notes (accepts handwriting, drawings not just typing) and play music (videos are not needed) and can run basic apps like a basic touch piano or a dictionary.
