She doesn't get any love because to get her you have to take Azuras Star instead of the Black Star and we all know that Azuras Star sux. As a companion, Aranea Lenith is just unbelievable and one shots almost everything. Many of the problems I had (such as dieing easily) I had with Lydia you don't find with Aranea the Battlemage. I love this lady!

I always used to use Utherd because she is amazing but I'm not playing with any followers any more because they always like to shove you and make it much more difficult for 1 handed stealth attacks, also they always get in the way and I usually end up killing them.

I've only tried Lydia so far, but I want to get a mage to complement my warrior play style. Someone who can do Illusion and Conjuration and maybe even heal me. Will companions actually heal you if they can?

Right now I have a Dead Thrall named Kornalus. He makes me feel bad about myself.

I like Aranea from (Azura's temple in the mountain) - though I would switch to Illia as soon as I encounter her. Caps at a lower level than Illia and Illia is better on the eyes.
Great range, summons Atronach (fire and frost) and throws a mean Ice Spike at long range.

I think it depends on your play style. I dont play sneak type characters and go with a destroy all in my path play style. Those who need a companion that can sneak well probably wouldnt like these as they go full boar into battle.

None. They dont scale with you, they're useless, and i only use them as pack mules, and furthermore they always block my spell projectiles. Got annoyed to the point where i asked my follower to go home and added 300 carry weight to myself using the console, so that i would have a "pack mule"

I like Aranea, Erandur, Brelyna, Onmund, and Erik the Slayer.

These are based on my experience with my mage character. Magic complements my magic because they stay away from my AoE spells and allow my Atronachs to tank for us. I haven't met Illia yet, and I also like Jordis on my melee character.
