Best/coolest Light/medium armor

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 5:11 am

What do you guys think the coolest light/medium armor or clothing is that is non-faction? I'm tired of wearing my chunky Remnants Armor that a lot of people have and makes me slow, I want something faster, non-faction related, and isn't ugly.

vault 34 security armor, 16 DT and its lightweight. Failing that, I always go with reinforced leather and ranger combat armor.

Centurion armor, ranger combat armor, reinforced combat armor, and well. You could check fallout.wikia.com

Forget the goofy helmet. Toss on a slave scarf and a pair of shades.

I would usually pick Reinforced Combat Armor, Mk.II, as it combines good-high DT with great appearance, but lately I've taken to going with Reinforced Leather Armor until I get the Sierra Madre armors. Then I use the Assassin Suit + Reinforced Helmet, although I took out the Stealth Bonus and altered the DT.

If you have more of a sneaky kind of playstyle I actually foundthe best sneak armor in the game if your sneak skill is already 100

tendendenden...

The All-purpose science suit!
It has a reasonable DT and a very low weight (weight of armor factors in a succesful sneak attempt).

Space Suit. Lightweight, decent DT, and you needn't change if you run into radiation. I tend to wear the Space Suit for most of the game, sometimes changing it for the Vault 34 Security Armor.

Assassin Suit. Even with Sneak already at 100, I still wear it. IMO, it's the best looking non-faction armor in the game.

Centurion armour for medium, Khan outfit for light; too bad they are both disguise and have pretty bad DT.

Assassin Suit, if you have Dead Money.
If not, Reinforced Leather Armor.

Coolest general outfit: Hard to say. I like the Jailhouse Rocker, especuially on my female characters, but its DT is only 2.
Coolest light armor: Assassin Suit
Coolest medium armor: Van Graff armor. You can get a suit of it for free at Durable Dan's sacked caravan (4 o'clock from Gun Runners, under the ruined highway). Or by wiping out the Van Graffs.

Don't Forget to look at the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bounty_hunter_duster. It's an ultra-light set of leather armor with a small skill boost to guns. This will fall in your lap when working for the Garret twins, so you can get it at a pretty low level. If you are good at avoiding damage altogether and play cowboy characters it's the perfect armor.

That's my main armor. Combine it with the Toughness perk and the Subdermal Implant, and it becomes an excellent option, especially for stealthiness.

I favor the the recon armor that beside looking sleek, grants a +5 sneak bonus.
I did try the Vault 34 security suit for a while but it wears out rather quickly: even
snipers get their share of close quarter combat once in a while. Oh, this one
looks great on Veronica and Cass.
