Best glitch you've ever had.

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:39 pm

It is a very common thing for TES games to have glitches, but never have they been as funny as in skyrim. We have all experienced the flying mammoth glitch, and few other common ones as well, but some have had the privilege to experience rare glitches that leave you speechless.
My special glitch happened in the road to High Hrothgar, i was wielding a bow with 390 damage, and as i was getting closer to the top i encountered a troll, then i suddenly drew my arrow and i must have shot him in the arm, but the most amazing thing happened to the troll, it started spinning like a tornado, and then all of the sudden it started spinning and flying all over the place, i was afraid that it was going to hit me to tell you the truth, thankfully it all ended well and the troll ended up at the top of some rocks,
What, if any, was your special glitch that left you speechless in skyrim.

The glitch where Alduin nosedived into the ground in Sovngarde and got stuck in the terrain, all it lacked was Wily Coyote holding up a sign that said "Yikes."

I had a couple recently that both made me laugh:

1) A dragon attack in Riverwood killed Faendal, who dropped his bow next to his body. While walking back to the center of town after all the NPCs finished gawking at the dead dragon, the drunk one (forget his name) got angry at Faendal's body and told it he shouldn't leave things laying around!

2) I was approaching a couple of mammoths near a Giant camp and one of the mammoths suddenly rose up in the air, for no reason, hovered over to where a tree was located and suddenly fell out of the sky to an instant death. I got a free and easy mammoth's tusk out of it to finish a quest.

The one that makes your face disappear when you put a hood on, actually looks pretty cool.

I had one recently where I was fighting mini falmer in a dwarven ruin.

Spoiler
After fighting that giant spider for a Dwemer expert (and I'm trying to be vague about where I encountered them).

they put a big grin on my face with the death animations hitting where they should normally and them like a foot underneath my mace.

I wish I had tried to take a pic, but I'm on 360 and don't have the right equipment.

How can a glitch be good? To answer your question: After a certain event in the Bard's College the headmaster, Varrion, will always carry a lit torch. Whether day or night, raining, eating or sleeping, indoors or outdoors he is always using it.

this is creepy, seems like a scene from a horror movie, actually now that i think about it, i scary glitch did happen to me with the companions guild [spoiler] at the end when i became guild master, skjor was supposed to be dead, but then after i completed a side quest and came back to the guild, there he was, it just seemed wrong, so i killed him again.

Not so much a glitch, but a . . . tactical error. I was testing "Become Ethereal" to see if it was affected by "Unyielding Force", so I waited until one of the Greybeards was meditating at the outlook rock behind High Hrothgar. Every once in a while, he would stand up, and yell, "Fuuuuuuuss... ro DAAAH!!!" at the edge of the cliff. I thought, perfect. A good do-or-die scenario. If it works, sweet. If not, I pay the price for my cavalier testing methods. Since the Greybeard won't shout if I've been standing in front of him, I wait for him to become locked into the stand-and-shout animation, and as soon as I get into position, I yell out, "Feim!" I must report that while the test went swimmingly for me, unfortunately, poor Lydia followed dutifully after me, like a good housecarl, and was knocked off of the ledge by the blast. I was in third-person perspective as I ran over, to better ensure my placing, and I saw her run over just in time to get blown off of the tallest mountain in Skyrim. I dashed over to the ledge to see her lifeless body tumble down the mountain until it was out of view. I turned around and saw the Greybeard casually sit back down and meditate, then get up and walk away from the scene of the crime like a hoss.

Okay, real glitch time. The funniest thing I saw that was a genuine glitch was watching someone tumble down a steep slope after getting hit by "Ice Form", and going nuts jerking around all over the sky before disappearing. See, not as funny.

actually when the dude starts spinning in circles, that's kind of what the troll looked like but instead it was flying all over the place and spinning a lot faster.

Go to the beginning when you are captured and riding in the carriage. In the PC version, use the "kill" command on the horse that is carrying your carriage.. lol it twists and twists into itself and you eventually run off the road :P

In my game he is also living again and calls me whelp. ^^

I saw a Mammoth fall to the ground while exploring west of Whiterun. I needed to get a Mammoth Tusk for Ysolda. What's even better is this was on my first melee character.

I've got about 10 now. They're so cute! http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/4740/everyonesfavenpc.png

Something I've had that no one else seems to have gotten is when I was killing those Sumerset Shadows guys. For some reason about 50% of the time when I killed one of them they'd cartwheel off several feet in the air, hands and legs spread out like they were stuck to some sort of invisible spinning disk. It's not that I've seen similar things happen now and again using destruction spells. But a normal strike with a 1H axe? I thought I'd suddenly become OP.

Quoting myself from another topic in which I posted a funny moment caused by a bizarre glitch:

After having successfully completed a quest for the Jarl in Solitude, I went out the front door of the Blue Palace. The loading screen appears.. and disappears. However, to my big surprise the first thing I see when the world materializes is the corpse of Taarie from the Radiant Raiment shop spawning in the air right in front of me. It falls to the ground with a thud, and I confusedly go forward to investigate. Then, all of a sudden the guard standing in front of the Palace turns his body towards me saying:

"You can sell off that junk at bits and pieces."

Also, the pink mammoth was quite funny.
