The best looking weapons in this game are in order:

1. Nord Hero Weapons (The one-handed sword in particular)
2. Glass Weapons (They all look fantastic)
3. Steel/Skyforge Steel weapons and The Blades Swords IE: Avaviri Katana

I find Dwarven, Elven, Orcish, Ebony, and Daedric Weapons just look ridiclious.........

I pretty much don't bother with the rest of the Smithing...because the rest of the weapons look bad....i usually use Nord Hero or Glass Weapons the whole game.

Daedric...by far the best looking.
Glass is my least favorite.

While I do think a lot of the upper tier stuff looks a bit far out, I do think they are still pretty cool in terms of design.

But that said, ebony is about as exotic as I can tolerate for my characters... daedric should be something incredibly rare and almost never encountered, not something you can just smith a full set of at the drop of a hat... just my opinion though.

The best looking weapons imo are things like the steel greatsword and as you say the skyforged stuff.
I love the look of the silver swords too, but I hate using them (I have silver ingots ffs, why can I not upgrade 'em?).

Basically I like authentic looking weapons more than the fantasy ones, I think they "fit" the game better, but I think the general aesthetic of Skyrim has a lot to do with that... I certainly didn't feel that way in Oblivion.
I am currently using the Oathblade katana even though it's quite weak compared to where my char is level and enemy wise... but it's my fave weapon for looks and I like the story that comes with it and the way you find it.

Bolar's Oathbadle looks pretty awesome and i love the story behind how you find it.

I like using a Dwarven sword. What's ridiculous about it ?

Ebony Armor is the most aesthetically pleasing Heavy Armor in my view, that's why I still wear it despite being able to craft Daedric armor. I never wear helmets.

Bows - we love all the bows, and the Elven and Orcish daggers are great as well.

Ancient Nord Sword/Nord Hero Swords.

The skyforge steel battle axe is my fav, the rueful axe looks awesome but swings way too dam slow for me.
wuthraad is cool with the screaming elf face...can you tell im a battleaxe fan?

Steel Greatsword is my favorite. Glass Greatsword the second. And daedric bow is pretty too.

Daedric Daggers are pretty awesome as well as Daedric Bows. I dont like the shape of the Daedric Battleaxe though. The Glass Greatsword and Battleaxe look very epic but the rest of them look fragile. Ebony is too...idk even know the word but it should be more straightened out. If Orcish wasnt green it would be my favorite set of weapons

Love the looks of the Rueful axe, but I've not been crazy about it's damage output. Wuuthrad has been a different story for me, it's damage has been pretty impressive, but I'm not crazy for it aestically. Ebony and Daedric Battleaxes are my favorite for both damage and appearance.

Did I forget to mention I like my Battleaxes? I find they are a bit of a PITA in the early stages, but become a real powerhouse later on, but if you miss your target, you will get hurt.

Blades Swords, Silver Weapons... actually all weapons in the game looks fantastic.

Nightingale Sword is my favorite.

The whole Glass Weapons suite, except for the War Axe ( Would have looked better with only one sided head) is a close second.

Daedric Third.


Least Favorite:

Steel Sword.

Ebony Dagger.

Ebony Greatsword. (Looks great on a wall, ugly in your hands)

"BLADES SWORD". (Loses all points because of name alone)

Glass weapons are my favorite, I think they have the best design and cool color. I also like the authentic look of the nord hero weapons, though, and ebony weapons are definitely up there too.

Dwarven Dagger and the hunting bow. Also the dwarven arrows (not the ugly quiver) are beautiful. Daedric weapons all look ridiculous to me.

The Ebony Blade thats powered by deceit <------- Awesome or my Daedric Sword that does 115 Damage

Just in general though, I still feel virtually all of the weapons in Skyrim are overdesigned. Even lowly steel. That's part of the reason I'm so fond of Glass, even though color wise, they're obviously very strange, the actual design of the weapon isn't too outlandish, and the curves syngergize well with the Elven weapons (Both glass and elven being Altmeri weapons). Bonus points for the Glass Sword/Dagger sheathe. A simple leather strap studded with Malachite.

Anyone notice the daedric dagger looks more like MW's version than OB's? They look effective and fancy

In no particular order: Nord hero Greatsword and Battleaxe, Steel Greatsword, Ebony bow, Glass bow, Ancient Nord sword, Daedric Dagger and Glass Greatsword . All the weapons are pretty cool but the one I hate is the Steel sword and the Rueful Axe is stunning but rubbish !!
