Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 5:05 am

When I played oblivion I was wondering about who to sell my stuff to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGqt7tc1xcwand since then I have made him my primary merchant and sold hundreds of stuff to him. I was wondering who should be my primary merchant in TES:S?

thanks

Edit: oops maybe this thread should go in the hints section

I like selling stuff in Whiterun, usually. It's very centrally located and since you tend to spend a lot of time there starting out you're ahead of the game in terms of how much the merchants there like you. But really any city with three or four different types of vendors in relatively close proximity works. The real trick isn't to find out who to sell to, no one has enough gold for that. It's where do you find as many merchants possible because between them they might have enough gold to buy all of the crap you just looted.

Also consider that if you do a quest for a merchant then I believe it raises their disposition towards you, which means better than average prices. So it's worth it to deliver that sword that the Blacksmith lady in Whiterun wants you to take to Jarl Balgruuf, for example.

I usually trade with the Khajiit caravans, due to the fact that they buy pretty much anything, and the fact that I enjoy talking to Khajiits.

Yea to get a really good merchants in Skyrim you have 2 options, the thieves guild quest line, or the speech perks. As far as I know there isn't a merchant in the game by default that has a ton of money.

For me riften is definitely trade town.I think in total there are five traders there. I know you asked for a specific merchant but i don't know of one.

White Run is by far the most convenient.

4x Weapon Merchants
1x General Goods
1x Mage
1x Apothecary
1x Khajit Caravan at regular intervals

Smith and Smelter are next door to your house
Closest main base to the 20% skill standing stones (you want these on for crafting)
Enchanting station is in an area you can fast travel to
Outside plains are ripe with all types of creatures for crafting in addition to massive amounts of iron ore veins and bandit hideouts.
