Best recruits for the Blades

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:28 pm

Ok, who are the best recruits for the Blades from a RP standpoint? I have to count out the house carls seeing how i got a bunch of riches in my place and they are mainly there to ward off and protect my house and valuebles. I was thinking Eric the 'slayer" as hes green but the Blades will give him taining but i dont knwo if he actually uses the training they give him. So i basically wanting a "fighter" type which if eric the slayer qualifies thats oen down, but i want a "mage" slot and a charector that be good at sneaking, becaus ei want one that'd be good at gathering intel and scouting.
Again, mainly a RP standpoint, like i was thinking the twins in te Champions could be my 2 fighters but then the mage would have to be my intel person as well. Dont really trust the hireswords because they in it for money and i dont knwo how well the pay will be with the Blades and i need them commited to a noble cause.
I knwo sounds dumb but im anol and doing a RP playthru and want soem recruits that makes "sense" for being recruiting and staying if it get hairy.

I chose:
  • Erik the Slayer. His father owns the inn in Roriksted, but he wants to become an adventurer. I picked him so he can have the adventure of his live by being a Blade.
  • Benor from Morthal. He wants to become a guard, but his request has been ignored. He is now a Blade and can go hunting dragons! Something the guards can only dream of.
  • Uthger the Unbroken. She sat at the inn in Whiterun and wanted to become a Companion. She was rejected, because she killed someone in a training fight by accident. I gave her a second chance and to prove herself by becoming a Blade.
These are the ones I found best for the role. It is cool when you hear them say things like "I cannot believe it. I am a Blade now!"

And one more time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVonyVSQoM - I should make a movie of the Blades with the A-Team theme under it.

I have to say Jenassa looks the coolest in the blades armor. She kind of blends with the colors.

That said, the Housecarls (the sword and board ones) and followers like Kharjo make ideal candidates. As far as raw skills and gear synergy goes. Unless somehow they get "respecced" if they train as Blades. Someone said that once.. I'm not sure it's true (and don't have the PC version to test it out).

Oi Vey. Does every Blades thread have to get like this. It's quite irrelevant.

By now I have recruited Vilkas and Aela the Huntress, and I will later recruit Mjoll the Lioness, once I helped her find Grimsever. I am the Harbinger of the Companions and both Vilkas and Aela have proven themselves to be good warriors, and they don't seem to mind some adventure too. Mjoll was an adventurer back in her days too, and has travelled all over Tamriel. All of them value honour and justice, something my current character values as well.

Uh ... in my opinion, it rather sounds like he took pity on two of them and enlisted them. Well, I took Erik The Slayer for the same reason 'though. And Lydia, because she looked very bored sitting in her chair in Breezehome, nibbling on a piece of bread (not to mention the reproachful look she had when watching me sleep. Creeeepy.)

Aside from them, I also chose J'Zargo. To counterbalance Delphine. A bossy ungrateful woman and a deadly ambitious sneak specialized in destruction magic. Should provide some fireworks in the organization. ^^
