Please give your favored weapon and justification. If we get enough responses maybe I'll start a poll.

My favorite weapon is the Blade of Woe. I like the throat cut kill animation. As for bows, I like deadric.

The Blade of Woe's enchantment and base damage are pretty disappointing though. Almost as bad as in Oblivion. Do you remember completing that entire friggin questline, toting that useless dagger around the whole time, finally having it blessed by the nightmother herself, and then realizing it was less effective than the weapons on the people you killed in her tomb?

All of them are pretty much just for weapon racks in the end. You will always be able to craft better weapons.

That being said, my favorite is Valundrung (spelling?); looks bad ass. And Malacath is a bad ass too.

What are you talking about? In Skyrim I've yet to find one better! And this is without exploiting or anything. I'm a level 100 Blacksmith, and I upgraded the [censored] out of that dagger, and it still beats my handcrafted/perfected Daedric dagger... In fact I believe it even beats Keening and Mehrunes Razor.

As for my favorite... it has to be the full suit of Nightingale armor. I was kind of expecting either a re-skin of the DB armor, or something similar, but I was blown away by the awesome gear I got. Dragonbane plus my upgraded Daedric sword also makes for one hell of a combo.

Yeah that's been one of my few real disappointments with this game. The artifacts, legendary weapons that are supposed to be powerful enough to shape the fate of the land, are utterly disappointing. In oblivion they seemed far more powerful. Umbra was the highest base damage, the Skull of Corruption allowed you to take down pretty much any NPC, even Azura's Star was more valuable because grand soul gems were so much harder to find. In Skyrim your weapons are superior to those made by daedra for the most part, which seems pretty ridiculous to me.

My Dark Brotherhood character never worked very high up the smithing tree (30x multiplier on backstab makes extra damage pretty obsolete) so I never improved it. Maybe it's leveled, but when I got it at level 30 or so it only had a 10 pt absorb health enchantment.

I read somewhere a while ago (can't remember offhand, think it was on a forum) that Daedric artifacts were levelled items in Skyrim - is that right?

P.S. If it isn't, that would make a badass mod!

I'm not entirely sure, that would be great to know though. I'm pretty sure they aren't, considering most of them don't activate until you reach a certain level.

The 81 unique weapons are a joke. That unique named bow that looked identical to a hunting bow and only minorly better is such a treat to find, really makes you want to go hunt them all out.

I like the scimtars but they are only rare, I would say ebony blade, except it's a two hand and I like one handers, would have loved two of them, smaller and not totally evil or useless. shame most of the unique items models are tied up with killing people.

If "best" means has the largest impact on performance, Windshear is the most broken, over-powered, unique weapon in the game.

I agree about the Artifacts being kind of ridiculously wimpy. I mean, these are weapons and items forged by a GOD and they do little more than look pretty. (Not to mention that some of the quests weren't as fun as Oblivions, I'd hoped they had found a way to out do some of their last ideas. Vaermina's is a good example... Mehrunes as well...)

I also really wish, even if it might be far-fetched for a God to offer a choice, but I really wish I could have chosen Goldbrand over the Ebony Mail. The Ebony Mail is sick, but for my dual-wielding Khajiit, Goldbrand to pair with Dragonbane would literally MAKE THE GAME 100x better. I miss Goldbrand from OB...

And I'm confused as to why Mephala's Ebony Blade in OB was a one hander, and is now a two-hander...

I think the wabbajack is hilarious, but not very practical in actual combat. Other than that I love to use the Volendrung, because I can power attack over and over until something is dead. A lot of the other unique weapons are just pointless. I also use the black star to fill all my enchanted weapons over and over. It's actually a little over powered I think.

What the wabbajack lacks in practicality, it makes up for in hilarity. Having an overzealous bandit boast about how he's going to claim your head seconds before you turn him into a sweet roll never gets old.

I miss goldbrand too but apparently it's destroyed, most of the good weapons are worse then they where in oblivion and I agree about the quests, I found naked noble dinner party much better then a night I don't actually get to see and then hunting for parts...not like you do that for any other quest...

As for ebony blade now being a two hander, it's cause they hate me and changed it last minute, it even is effected by one hander perks not two hander...

But aside from daedric artifacts, the other unique items don't even look pretty they just rehash the same models of iron or steel over and over.

One aspect of unique items I wouldn't mind not being unique is if they had alternitives for getting the items model, or the items model unenchanted so you can add what you wanted to it.
