Because the patch fixed the DT problems with many enemies like Deathclaws, Mr Gutsies, Super Mutant Masters, Securitron MK II's etc., the guide had to be drastically altered. An enemy like a deathclaw was supposed to have 15 DT, but when I wrote the guide, it was really 30 DT. Likewise, Securitron MK II had 60 DT. It now only has 30.
So I had to get rid of the 60 DT charts and include a 15 DT chart. I also had to edit many sections of the guide because some conclusions and results obviously changed as a result of the patch.
You can find a fully updated guide that is now consistent with the latest version of the game here:

As a result of the patch, Riot Shotgun got a lot more powerful. It's still not as good as Gobi or Brush Gun in the majority of situations, but it's a lot more usable outside of VATS than it once was.
Multiplas Rifle is still the #3 vats weapon, but it's a lot closer to the #2 option than it used to be.
Also, .45-70 Gov't HP ammo is a hell of a lot more useful. It compares very well against SWC ammo against 15 DT targets, and is still better than the regular .45-70 Gov't. This makes Brush Gun and Ranger Sequoia that much better! In fact, I may even ditch This Machine as the #2 general purpose Gun and put Brush Gun up there as a result, because now the ammo problems with Brush Gun are non-existent.
Enjoy!
